Got my copy in the post today - as with his Young Bond books, Puffin have gone above here: it's a gorgeous hardcover with the artwork pressed directly onto the boards and black edges to the pages.

For the Young Bond collectors, there's a full-page ad at the back of the book for Higson's five Young Bond books and the graphic novel adaptation of SilverFin.

Lovely isnt it Dark B) Puffin do a great job.

Got the Amazon signed one today and it is a little stunner....as far as books go. If Charlie ever does an Adult Bond I hope the people who have done YB and The Enemy do it for him, such well done books. Well done Puffin!

Looks like Charlie's old Fast Show Mucker Paul Whitehouse is providing the reading for the Audio release of The Enemy? Know anything about it Zencat?

http://www.amazon.co...s...106&sr=1-33

Zencat posted a link for signed copies at Amazon for The Enemy. Looks like they have all gone now. If anyone wants a signed copy of The Enemy shoot me a PM and I will see what I can do.

I noticed that as well. Don't know much about it, but it's cool that Whitehouse is doing the reading.

I finished reading The Enemy last week. I'll have a full review on my blog soon, but needless to say, it's another winner from Higson. Publishers who baulked at the violence in SilverFin (and, indeed, anywhere in the Young Bond series) will probably suffer a heart attack at the gruesome gore and coarse language in The Enemy - reading it, I had to remind myself this was actually a children's novel.

Outside of the Young Bond universe, Higson relishes in killing off main characters without hesitation. A rollicking zombie thriller with tinges of Lost, Lord of the Flies and loads of other zombie flicks.

Half way through The Enemy and can only agree with you dark. I laughed when a Father Zombie let out a slow loud B). :S

It's brilliant so far! I would like to think I would be in the Waitrose gang. My Gran always said there was a better class of people at Waitrose :S

Edit: Wow the word  is  here but it gets into a kids book! :)!

Editedted: Finished The Enemy yesterday and would reccomend any Young Bond fan to give it a go. Like all Charlie Higsons work I have read, it has a lovely flow to it and keeps you hocked.Freaky Deaky Brillaint! :)

Definite improvement over the UK art, in my opinion. B)

Whoa! UK paperback cover art is truly awesome. Maybe the best cover for a Charlie book ever.

Hold on a moment. I thought the cover looked familiar... It's the poster artwork for 28 Weeks Later.

Holy cats. You're right!

Maybe this is some kind of temp art? I did fire off an email to Puffin yesterday when I saw this on Amazon asking if it really was the art, but didn't hear back (and probably won't until after the holidays), so I just put it up. Hmmm... Wonder if I should take this down.

EDIT: Took the story down, but I left the image in my Enemy gallery. I'l wait until I hear back from Puffin.

Could be fan art, or Puffin might have purchased it. Never saw the movie, but the two kids in the background of this photo are definitely in the movie. http://www.imdb.com/...42560/nm1782299

Fan art wouldn't appear on Amazon in this way. But temp art certainly does. We'll see.

Nice, although I quite liked the UK hardback best with the black endpapers. Not very often you see black endpapers is it, it quite set the tone of The Enemy.

Doesn't bowl me over, I loved The Enemy cover and black endpapers. I can only hope Puffin don't let me down on this one and this is just concept art for The Dead. Is it out this year?

Yes, it's final and it will have foil finishes like the first book. I think it'll look pretty good.

Higher res here.

U.S. release date has been pulled forward to May 11 (good move to distance it somewhat from all the YB releases set for the 18th).

New U.S. trailer here:
