I know that Sean Connery had took up karate sometime in his youth. And apparently, so did George Lazenby. I found this photo of him engaged in some form of martial arts back in the 1970s:

Apparently Lazenby became good friends with Bruce Lee and was going to appear in his film Game Of Death. Then of course Lee died and the film was later completed in a form quite different to Lee's conception.

He went on appear in a few Hong Kong martial arts films,I have one on video called The Man With Hong Kong,a reasonable 70s style cop actioner.

A DVD of THE MAN FROM HONG KONG has recently been released by Madman Entertainment here in Oz. It's a repackaging of a release in 2000 from The Screen Archive of Australia, which I have. Well worth getting for Laz of course, and for the very informative commentary track by its director Brian Trenchard-Smith.
