I don't get why anyone would want these things, personally. They're unnecessarily large and cumbersome. The pages of omnibi are generally of poorer quality than the individuals. In some cases the print is so large it's distracting. Just seem so utterly pointless to me. Oh well. To each their own I suppose.

I'm with Loomis on this one. I can't stand reading omnibi either. I have one Bond omnibus, and find it so hard to read that I still went to the library to check out the books that were contained within the omnibus because it was easier to read that way.

With that said, I really like the title they've come up with. Not crazy at all about the cover art (it's absolutely terrible), but CHOICE OF WEAPONS is a very good title.

It look very nice. I know what you mean Loomis. Rather than read my Union Trilogy I am looking for first editions as I dont want to break my lovely copy of the Union Trilogy up. They will look good on the shelf.

The inclusion of Midsummer Night's Doom and Live At Five -- Yay!!! B)

Apparently, we won't be getting the never-released The Heart Of Erzulie. Bummer.

It looks even more likely now that we'll never see the "lost" Bond short story. About the only way it seems it could ever happen would be if IFP ever did a collection of the continuation short stories (i.e. of Raymond Benson and Samantha Weinberg...and Charlie Higson???...along with any future authors' stories.)

The cover artwork looks fine and will go well with The Union Trilogy omnibus. If nothing else, at least The Union Trilogy and Choice Of Weapons give us all of Benson's published Bond short stories in book form.

Would love to see a novelization collection with that story included.

I am really excited to pick this one up. I was on tour with a group heading to New York for Europe and I picked up the Union Trilogy for $20 at a Barnes and Nobles. I was visiting some of the Bond locales, and I already brought Goldfinger with me, so why not?

That's good news. I hope to get my hands on this when it comes out early. Got to get it so I have the set. They have done a good job here and it's worth it just for the introduction. B)

Does anyone know how the early release will differ to the September release? A difference in cover art, wording or something else perhaps? Is it possible to order the early version anywhere online?

hope this gets a similar hardback edition to the one for the union trilogy since i feel like that works much better for a book this size.

Lucky boy, coco! I was bemoaning the other day that Benson never seems to come to do signings round the UK anymore (if he ever did for the Bond books).

I will have to satisfy myself with the Deaver signing!

Is it just the remaining three novels in the the anthology - or have we got any unexpected extra's?

Here's the picture of me and Mr. Benson at the Printers Row Lit Fest. My girlfriend and I had to quickly dive under cover moments after this was taken as the rain started to pour and didn't let up for another hour or so. You'd think Mother Nature would realize that rain and paper don't mix well...

Finally some proof! I was beginning to wonder if coco just forged Benson's signature on that book. B)

I second this request. I've just ordered both omnibuses but am tempted to pick up the hardcover Union Trilogy instead (if there's a hardcover Choice of Weapons on its way!).
