I was a fan of the show even before Lazenby was brought on as Major Charles, the Pretender's father.

I'm guessing that the producers were fans of OHMSS - Miss Parker, played by Andrea Parker, was pretty much an Emma Peel/Diana Rigg clone.

If Gardner had literally picked Fleming's early 40s Bond from the early/mid 60s and dropped him in 1981 for Licence Renewed (rather than ignore the ageing option) then THIS is what he should have looked like.

And there would have been nothing wrong with a 60 year old Bond if he had.

i watched The Pretender too. Got annoying at the end when there was no resolution.

I'm watching it on Hulu, so I have only seen up to season three. Has anyone seen the two movies that they did for the Pretender? Also, doublenaughtspy, I did not know that Laz was even in it. Took me by suprise. Also, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thought that Andrea Parker looks like Diana Rigg. and I probably will not look that good at 60, HAHA

The Pretender was a great show. I got a big kick out of seeing George Lazenby playing Jarrod's dad. I can see the Miss Parker/Emma Peel similarities.

I watched this show and being one that only knew Laz as (one time) Bond, it still hit me when I saw the old Laz on screen. Immediately I thought ; " Hey, isn't that George Lazenby from OHMSS? "

Then I checked from google, and was glad to notice I was right


Good ol' Laz.

I watched this show from the beginning & enjoyed it. It was cool seeing Laz has Jarod's father. I remember reading that there was a resolution to the series written but the third movie was never filmed due to a lack of money, a lack of ratings, or both.
