hello cbn'ers! hope you enjoy my first post! i also hope this wont be too tedious for any of you either =)

so ive been kicking aroundan idea for a villain of blofeld's stature but operating on a much lower key within the quantum organization, and ive come up with an idea for the next bond film. these are just my rough ideas that havent been fully focused. this is just what i think would be cool.



this would take place 6 months after "solace" and it would have nothing to do with mr white or dominic greene or any of that, but with another faction of quantum that has started operating on a much bigger level. the movie would start out with a massive terrorist attack on china, it happens at night, commandos attack the chinese antiaircraft missile emplacements on either side of the three gorges dam in a bloody gun battle, then a supersonic bomber and its fighter escort which had been taking part in night excercises with live weaponry near the dam, breaks off from the war games and heads down the yangtze for the dam. the bomber and its fighter escots are piloted by a cadre of ethnic tibetan and uighur nationalists inside the chinese airforce who have been biding their time to strike back at their enemies (the backstory of this will be rudimenteraly explained later in the movie by M to bond during a debriefing on the situation) before additional fighters can be scrambled to attack the bomber and its escort the bomber launches two cruise missiles at the dam, now defenseless against attack, a few minutes later the missiles slam into the dam and do major damage, but not enough to break it, the bomber crew and fighter pilots knowing what comes next, mutter their personal prayers and prepare to die and they fly head on into the dam. the force of the collisions blows a huge hole in the center of the dam releasing billions of gallons of water down the yangtze, killing millions, at the same time EM pulse devices are detonated in a dozen of chinas largest cities and at the lop nor weapons testing facility in xinjiang, disrupting both military and civilian communications. china is unable to coordinate its military to counterattack the insurgencies that quickly rise in xinjiang and tibet and the situation rapidly degenerates.......meanwhile in a moblie command center in arunchal pradesh, india a group of men and women busily communicate with the operatives in china who report that the operation is going smoothly and exactly as planned. the camera focuses on a bald lanky man with week old stubble, "the operation appears to have been a success mr lasalle" one of the men tells him, he smiles and the opening credits roll.


the movie picks up the story about a year later, china still hasent recovered from the attacks and has become angry and isolationist and tibet and xinjiang have forced china to recognize their independence, bond is in london reciveing a debriefing about the chinese situation and possible connections between quantum and the collapse of china, however that isnt the main focus of the movie, instead M assigns bond to investigate a mossad agent, galil yeshuda, who was seen meeting with a known quantum member in djibouti, yeshuda was suspected in the death of 003 in an operation to capture a rogue german chemical weapons scientist who had planned to attack israel with sarin nerve gas, alfred brosmann, in chile 7 years earlier and had dissapeared after the operation ended. once he gets there he drives to hashimel towers, the building complex where yeshuda was thought to have lived. bond is subsequently attacked by yeshuda, however bond quickly gets the upper hand and subdues him. bond questions yeshuda about his connections to quantum, however before he can answer he is killed by a sniper, bond escapes yeshuda's apartment and tries to get to the bottom floor of the building, however a team of black clad assassins with silenced mp5s emerge from the elevator and open fire on bond, killing half a dozen innocent occupants of the building as well, after a fierce gun battle bond kills all but one of his assailants but runs out of ammo before he can kill the last one, his opponent levels his mp5, smiling, ready to pull the trigger, when a bullet from another direction smashes into his skull and kills him instantly. a man emerges from the landing of a stairwell and asks bond if hes alright, police sirens wail as law enforcement converges upon the towers, the man shows bond the "backdoor" and both escape the towers, however since bond's astin martin gets impounded by the local officials he has little choice but to stay with the stranger who saved his life, riding down the backstreets of dijbouti, the man introduces himself as moshe levin, a mossad agent sent to capture yeshuda and bring him back to israel to be put on trial for treason, as he was actually working for brosmann against the israelis. anyhow to shorten this up a bit (mainly because im getting tired from all the new year celebrations) mossad finds out that yeshuda, besides being a traitor to mossad and israel, was also a freelance killer for a general in the israeli army, aaron ze'ev. ze'ev is a fanatical ultraorthodox israeli that opposes any peace with the palestinians and harbors dreams of a "greater israel" that encompasses the entire middle east. the director of mossad contacts MI6 to discuss a joint mission between the two agencies in the fform of levin/bond teaming up. after assessing the gravity of the situation and how it might affect british forces in the middle east, M agrees and bond is paired with levin to uncover ze'ev's plot. as ze'ev is a high ranking general in the isaraeli defense forces and has many powerful supporters in the government, any investigation of his activites must be done without the knowledge of the government itself, so the mission is limited to bond and levin with only mossad director garritz and M privy to the details. anyways bond and levin put the puzzle pieces together at a moderate pace and figure out that ze'ev has come into posession of 3 nuclear warheads and has placed them under the holy pilgrimage sites of mecca and medina and under the temple mount in jerusalem, his objective to detonate them simultaneously to start an all out war between the israelis and muslims and force the american/british forces in iraq to join forces with him to conquer the middle east. (yes, hes an unstable megalomaniac) this culminates in a mossad attack on an israeli airfield near the gulf of aqaba controlled by troops loyal to ze'ev. during the gun battle, bond and levin get onto the airstrip and sneak aboard ze'ev's AWACS plane just before it takes off. ze'ev has to be at a certain altitude to transmit the coded signal for the bombs to detonate simultaneously (this is not true, but ze'ev doesnt know that) bond and levin fight and kill most of the hawkeye AWACS aircrew before they finally confront ze'ev, ze'ev badly wounds levin, but bond intercedes before he can kill levin. bond and ze'ev struggle for the remote detonator, with bond finally breaking ze'ev's neck after a protracted struggle. bond notices from the altimeter that the plane has reached the proscribed 10,000 ft mark for simultaneous detonation and uses his walther ppk to smash the remote detonator in case ze'ev programmed it to send the signal automatically incase he was incapacitated. afterwards bond takes control of the ccokpit and forces the pilots to land the plane, levin staggers forward, smiling, knowing the mission was completed successfully. bond contacts garritz to let mossad know the mission succeeded, the news is then passed on to MI6 where M murmurs under her breath, "well done james..." however just at that moment when everyone is breathing a sigh of relief, ..........the bombs detonate, mecca, medina and jerusalem are engulfed by mushroom clouds..........hours later, news agencys from all overthe world are covering the disaster......the camera pans out from one TV monitor back to the figure of a tall rather gaunt man with a stubbly beard, he smiles, the camera shifts to a small device on a coffee table next to him. it has a red button underneath a GPS map/monitor.......the man opens a door and walks outside, he pulls a cellphone out of his pocket and dials a number, then a ringtone, a man picks up on the other end, "operation sandblast is a complete success" says the gaunt man. "well done lasalle, youve come a long ways in this organization, soon youll be the controlling interest." the man just smiles. the camera pans out again to show the man strolling the deck of a french guided missile cruiser. the end credits begin to roll.....

I think it's great that you've got some ideas for a Bond film that you'd like to share with us, and while we do already have a thread for suggesting and discussing them, there are a few things you might want to consider before re-posting:

- Firstly, show us what happens. Don't simply tell your audience what has happened beforehand through exposition, because they will get lost. When Bond is briefed by M, you tell us rather than show us what has happened. 003 is dead at the hands of a Mossad agent, while investigating a rogue German chemical weapons expert seven years ago. But we don't see any of this happen for ourselves: we are simply told tha it happened. Nor does this have any immediate or apparent connection to the events of the pre-title sequence, which will make it harder for audiences to follow.
- Secondly, the status quo always returns to equilibrium by the end of a Bond film. In every film from DOCTOR NO to QUANTUM OF SOLACE, the world has always been able to revert to the way it was prior to the events of the film. But what you've got here is a major geopolitical change in making China as isolationist as North Korea. If this were to happen, it would have to be that way for every Bond film from here on it, and to be honest, I'm not sure why you're changing the state of the nation in the first place. Likewise, you destroy Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem without really exporing the consequences of those events taking place.
- Thirdly, I think you might want to research some things a little. Tibet would never use violence to force China into accepting them as a nation. Nor would an ultraorthodox Israeli move to destory Israel's holiest sites in the name of the nation. The actions that take place within your idea are also far too politically-charged for a Bond film. While Bond is grounded in current events, the Arab-Israeli conflict is simply too complicated to be shown accurately.
- Finally, Quantum is not a terrorist organisation. They have been shown to finance terrorist operations, but on the whole they appear to operate more like a business than anything else. If they are going to conduct a grand scheme, there has to be something in it for themselves. They are not anarchists or zealots; they are businesspeople.

This isn't a case of me saying "it's , don't even bother posting again". No, I'm a writer myself, and I've found one of the most useful tools for a writer is constructive criticism, which is what I'm offering here.

yea, these where just rough hewn ideas, not refined down to what id want them to be yet. id thought it would be a curveball of sorts if for once, bond dident get there in time to foil the plot, or had actually thought he had, but events continued anyway, the focus was on a faction of quantum that wanted to change the world to its liking, using various military and government figures around the world whos aims corresponded(at least partially, and most of the time, unknowingly) to their own as tools in advancing that cause. often these persons where unaware of the true nature of their shadowy allies. examples in my story being ethnically tibetan chinese air force colonel ngar kham, who had to watch his parents executed when he was a small boy duing mao's cultural revolution in the 60s, or aaron ze'ev, a decorated israeli general who over time became a megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur for an israeli empire.. (yes, it would seem to be insane for a patriotic israeli to do something like this, however as a parallel example, hitler was a borderline lunatic who fashioned himself as an ultrapatriot...yet people still followed him even after it was evident that he had brought destruction and death upon his own country...im actually suprised that he dident blow up berlin instead of allowing it to fall into the hands of the russians, for ze'ev, the ends justify the means, this is also evident in his employment of yeshuda, a mossad traitor who wil kill for whoever pays him the most. ze'ev personally dispises him, but recognizes his talents and his usefulness in advancing his agenda, when his usefulness comes to an end, ze'ev disgards him and moves on).......ze'ev was basically a "patsie" for this faction of quantum. they supplied him with the bombs and allowed him to plant them under their supervision, but also fed him false information about how they should be detonated, and gave him a dummy detonator. he was just a front to dissuade mossad and MI6 from following the bread crumbs to quantum. the mission in chile against the german brosmann and the death of 003 was a device to bring MI6 into the current hunt to find yeshuda, and yes, i know that the dalai lama would never endorse violent revolution in tibet, however that dosent mean all tibetans aggree...and the ugihurs (at least a substantial minority) have been fomenting, at least on a small scale, for separation of "east turkestan" (xinjiang) for decades, but i digress, its not meant to be real life. (as all bonds are in the end, entertainment)i do understand that a movie concerning a plot like this would probably cause outrage in the middle east and china and wouldent be economically feasible as a production in the end, but i wanted to explore a storyline where the villains actually succeed in causing real damage and altering wold history.....and how bond could fix it, at least to an extent.....i had ideas for a movie to be a sequel to this one, where bond is sent to australia to hunt down lasalle, but they are equally rough hewn right now.......



i also had the idea that the operation against china was contracted by the united states in order to mortally weaken its greatest competitor and prevent it from having the force to call in america's massive debt to china........but i decided that was a bit too far off the edge.........

haha, i know, i know, im not a professional writer, and im guessing that is painfully apparent by my haphazard style. =)


this was more of a brainfart that id had for a while and i had to put it into writing before ilost it.
