I feel like I just got an unexpected Christmas gift. :( This is a beautiful theater & it is conveniently close to home.

I could be there within 90 minutes, so might be making a road trip that day.

Here's the thing, I was planning on going, but after just watching it on BluRay, it spoiled me for a big screen viewing. Plus, I have seen DN on the big screen before, and am falling behind on my new theatrical viewings--so looks like I will stay a bit closer to home and see Watchmen instead.

I attended the screening last night. The theater itself has gone through a complete restoration & is a beautiful facility. There was a very good crowd on hand for it. From my observations, it was a mix of folks who are regulars at the theater & those who came out to see Bond (as evidenced by one guy who was proudly wearing a t-shirt with the SPECRTRE logo on it  ). There were even a few people enjoying vodka martinis in the lobby or they were at the least drinking something in plastic martini shaped glasses anyway. B)

The print itself was in good condition. The reel changes were obvious but the picture was clean outside of that. There was some noticeable hiss in the audio at points. Not sure if this was due to limitations of the original mono soundtrack or a system setting at the theater. Either way, I'm sure I'm the only one that really noticed it. At the end of the credits, I did notice the same Lowery Digital restoration credits screen that it at the end of the UE DVD's & Blu-ray discs. I've only seen a handful of Bond films on the big screen since Lowery did the restoration but this is the first time I noticed it in the credits at a theater. With the good quality of the print, leads me to believe the struck new film prints based on the restoration work.

Overall, a great setting to see a movie. I'll be dropping them an e-mail to recommend they consider adding some more Bond films in the future.

Glad to see you got to enjoy Dr. No, Professor. Did you silently weep during your execution scene again? B)

Our viewing in 2-007 with Bond Girl and the notorious MAD was a fun evening.

Great stuff. Glad it turned out to be a successful event.

I only had a slight "shooting" pain in my back this time around.

Oops... looks like I spelled SPECTRE wrong in my earlier post. B)

Don't worry, I'm sure SPECTRE isn't a vengeful employer. I mean it's not like they've ever killed an employee for making an honest mistake.
