Who would you like to sing the next theme for Bond 23? I've heard names like The Killers and Coldplay thrown around.

Weird Al Yankovic. Okay. He does spoofs, but he's awesome with lyrics and I'm sure could step down from comedy to do a damn good serious (and possibly emotional) original theme song/tune.

Comedy is an emotion and so is sadness. :(

There's a good Thunderballesque spoof theme by Weird Al called Spy Hard. If youve never seen it you can look it up on YouTube.

She may be new and a little kinky too, but what about Katy Perry?

No. Just NO.

Katy Perry is not a performer. She is a poster girl for creative bankruptcy and exploitation. Everything about her, from her music to her wardrobe to her on-stage antics are carefully chosen for her by producers for the sole purpose of selling albums. And when they've bled her dry, they'll move onto another one. Don't you think it's odd that a girl who was raised listening exclusively to Christan music courtesy of her strict parents releases an (exploitation) anthem about experimenting with the same sex (even if it reeks of doing so to attract a guy's attention)?

Kings of Leon would do a great job I think.

Hopefully this time around we'll get a truly great title track. "You Know My Name" was one of the better title tracks, but "Another Way to Die" was simply awful and we need something truly great this time around. I think that there's a great number of artists out there that could deliver us a great title track.

Some of my suggestions would be:
U2
Maroon 5
Rihanna
Lindsey Buckingham

Kudos Bondian for thinking outside the box. As a Weird Al fan for these many years I can see where you're coming from. But you know he's such a diva I doubt EON would wait on him. ;) :( :D

Now lets see if I can come up with something hip. My music taste is decidedly dinosaurish. . .*Blows dust off vinyl collection*

Not that I'm championing her, but Pink? :) It's all I can think of! :) Ouch! I'm so unhip it hurts. . . Don't shoot me now, I'll just go sit in the corner with my dunce cap on or should I write "I will NOT nominate Pink for Bond theme a hundred times?" :) :)

Seriously though I honestly cannot think of anyone I'd actually love to do the next Bond song. It depends on the direction of song, Rock? Pop? Adult contemporary ( whatever that means)? I just don't know..

I actually think that she could turn in a rather interesting title track. I think that with a few lyric changes, "So What" could have been a decent title track for Quantum of Solace (certainly a much better title song than AWTD).

If were naming random pop singers why not Hilary Duff.

Has to be someone with a bit of melodrama, a really strong vocal and a maybe a bit of a throwback to the 60's and 70's.

The reformed Led Zeppelin.

Amy Lee
The Killers

U2 are great at doing singalong anthems. I would love it if they managed to come up with a song like that.

Agreed. My pick would be U2, but I think the chances of them being chosen are unfortunately slim.

They had their chance to write a song and it was dreadful with no melody (Goldeneye).

Not that this would happen now, but I wish these artists could have done one:

Kim Wilde (check out her 'BladeRunner' from "Teases and Dares" album)
Marillion (riff from Radiation's Cathedral Wall band members meant as Bond baddie theme)
David Bowie (might have happened had he been cast in AVTAK)
Sade
Genesis (listen to lyrics of "Just a Job To Do")

I wish the producers would ask themselves "Who do we want to have done a Bond title ten years from now?" instead of trying to be 'up to the minute' each time. The results might have been better.

I still tend to think of her as an actress. As an American Bond girl with either Daniel Craig or his successor, she ought to do well.
