No, the bald guy cant be Blofeld. He doesn't have his hand on a pussy. Or have PETA folks asked EON to make radical changes to Blofeld too? This is too much - Bond without his line, the gun barrel changed, and now Blofeld without his pussy. This movie will flop for sure.... :(

White isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

I've really come to respect him as a villian, I hope Jesper's back in the next movie or the one after.

Wow. It's a shame this scene was deleted because it looks like it would have been cool!

Wouldn't it be cool if the next film revealed that Mr White was Bond's father? That would explain why he keeps letting 007 live in CR.

And then the next trilogy of films can be prequels about a younger White and his path to the dark side.

Yes, it is.

His knee must be feeling better by the time this picture was taken.

Definitely looks like an interesting scene!

You had me before I saw the photo I thought it was really going to be him. The second photo was released about a month ago and I remember the story was Bond was going to be killed at the end. FRWL perhaps?

We will probably need to wait a while for this. My guess is bare bones DVD in March 2009 & then Collector's Edition in two years much like with the Casino Royale release. :) It does look like a great scene.

I know there was a thread on it a while back, but can anyone quickly summarise what we know of this scene and how it would have played out?

This may have had happened if Sony was releasing the DVD but since MGM will be releasing the DVD there is a good chance we get a DVD that has more Special Features than CR's bare bone release and the fact that MGM doesn't double dip Bond movies unless they are coming out with a new box set so I think will be getting something more in the line of DAD's initial DVD release which had more special features than CR's bare bone release.

That would be a phenomenally retrospective twist, to think a few films down the line that MI6 had him in their clutches.

Personally, I think it would be more effective to reveal he's second in command. The sort of arm of the head honcho. Why? Because the truly evil geniuses, the real masterminds, the smartest criminals, are the ones you never know exist - as White claims about Quantum in general.

Nah, I don't think so.

Sony's deal with Bond is over now I think, so I guess we'll get a pretty full DVD. Look at the special features on the Die Another Day DVD! Those were brilliant.

I think with Sony out of the way.... MGM and Eon can really get a chance to work on it, without Sony calling the shots.

So... White as Largo? I like that idea.

Or how about this: there is no head of Quantum. Just a corporate-style board with a revolving chairmanship. It has long since acquired a collective identity and personality that guides its actions more than the whims of any one man.

There is no head of this secretive, evil, transnational organization for Bond to simply lop off and save the day in one fell swoop. If Bond wants to beat it, he has to undermine it and expose it, inside out and outside in.

This is how I tend to think of Quantum. The scene at the opera revealed this type committee structure. Since the Tierra Project was the main operation at that time, Greene led the discussion, but if another operation had needed input, then maybe White or one of the other associates would have led that discussion. Here's hoping that's the direction they take in future films.
