Does anyone know if 'Tosca' was made directly for Quantum of Solace, or did it exist before hand?

Tosca is an opera by Giacomo Puccini (responsible for a lot of the oft-performed opera classics, including Madame Butterfly, La Boheme, and Tuarandot). It premiered in 1900. So no, Tosca was not written for Quantum of Solace.

I thought that the fact that they went out of their way to shoot at an existing opera stage and used an already-existing opera production would have tipped you off. :(

Here's what a little googling brought up...

Zanni - written by Nichenson Pruchdommen(?) and Marc Lubin
Performed by Nichenson Pruchdommen(?)

Looks like it's Zanmi, by The Nomads, a group of Carribean music (French Creole). Song by Nickenson Prud'homme, on their 2006 album The Challenge. I'm not a great fan, but maybe it's better with a glass of ti'punch! :(

Buisiness before Pleasure: - Written & Performed by George Azanzee (?)

Actually, I rather like those tracks.

Very Awesome, thanks. :)

Have you any idea where these tracks appear in the movie?

I know for a fact that Regresa is from Greene's Fundraiser. Gah! Where's Bond Rules when you need him. :(

The better question is when are all these songs featured? Tosca's easy enough, and "Regresa" by Jaime Cuadra is the initial party music for Greene's fundraise (and very cool music, at that), but what about the rest of 'em?

Yes, the question was funny. But to come to Mharkin's defence, I was educated by the state (for a very long time), and if I know what Tosca is (without having ever listened to the complete opera, I must acknowledge), it's not thanks to school. Opera is still often part of a class culture, so all in all, I find it very understandable and forgiveable if a teenager has never heard (yet) of a piece like Tosca.

"Regresa" by Jaime Cuadra. Lyrics.

REGRESA

----

REGRESA (RETURN - Translated to English)

I'm looking for you,
Because my lips are missing your lips of fire.
I'm asking for you
And in my sad words my voice is a pray
I need you, because a life without you is souless
And there are in the world my missed steps
Looking the road for your understanding

(Forgive me.
If you have a heart
Listen in your beats
Mi aching voice)

But please return
To fill the space you left
Return at least to bid farewell
You want me to die
Without saying goodbye to you.

If you need a mp3 of the song, PM me. (Don't worry about ol' Jaime... as Bond says when he trows Mathis in the dumpster... "He wouldn't care" :()

I've found one for the tracks from the Tosca Album:

I've called it:
Silent Restraunt Shootout/He Shouldn't Be Looking At Me!

A very clean track, no SFX. The Track itself is called, E qual via Scegliete.

No idea where the other two are. (Bond listens to Quantums plans/meeting Greene on the stairs)

See, everyone else read your question apparently as you intended it, asking whether it was written for the film. But when I read it, I thought you were asking if these sequences were performed specifically to create footage for the film.
