Folks, this is driving me nuts. Please help me out here.

In CR, when Bond drives up to the front of the Ocean Club and he gets out of his car, he is wearing shades.

He takes them off when the two girls pass by, but when he then bends down to do up his shoelaces in order to check out the security cameras, they have disappeared.

There is nothing in his hands when he catches the German's keys and gets into the gold Range Rover. But there he is wearing them when he gets out having backed it into the fence (love that scene when he tosses the keys over his shoulder!)

He's still wearing them when he goes into the Ocean Club and has then in his left hand when he goes into the security room. He doesn't have them when he comes out, but one could argue he left them in there - though that would be a naff thing for a spy to do.

He has no breast pocket in his shirt and those pants are way too tailored over his "perfectly formed a***" (thanks Vesper, I noticed it too! :) ) to hide the glasses, there is barely room for his cell phone and credit card.

Where did the glasses go? This is driving me nuts! Was this a genuine continuity gaff or have I missed something?? :(

That's it. CR now drops from a 9 to a 1. It's a flawed film!

They were high tech disappearing spy sunglasses.

By the way, what is a "born again Bond"?

They used the same technology that Bond's Aston Martin in DAD had. And to think people say CR had no gadgets.

Actually I just watched that scene and it is pretty clear that he put them in his front pocket. What....you said that was not his sunglasses?????

So what did you think of Casino Royale?

I just watched it again a few times and I can't see where they are in his front pocket - the tailored line of his pants is too smooth. Any lumps he has are defintely not his glasses methinks!!! :(

Maybe we are supposed to think they are in his pants when in reality he puts them back on in between camera shots.

I just know that everytime I've watched CR since getting the DVD the mystery of the invisible specs grabs my attention when I should be looking at other stuff.

But....then again......they could be the same technology as the invisible car. :)

I loved it. It has some really good twists and turns, lots of style and panache, nice sprinkling of humour, good set action pieces and some refreshing changes, e.g., the torture scene and the heart attack scene. I knew Daniel Craig was a good actor, but didn't equate him with Bond, but heck, he nailed it right off.

I came at all this backwards because of seeing QoS first. Then finding this website and reading what members thought of QoS I wondered what I would think of CR when I finally got my hands on the DVD.

It hooked me in from the start - that beginning is awesome, so stylishly done. Loved it.

That first scene in the bathroom in CR was perhaps not as raw as it might have appeared to those who saw it when it first came out and were used to seeing smoother Bond. I expected him to be violent and gritty from the get-go, and so the beginning was "hang on - here we go!!"

I lost my heart to QoS, the movie blew me away and Daniel Craig's Bond pulled me in totally. Being a sentimental sort of soul, I think I will always love it the best because it was the movie that brought me back to Bond.

Actually I was making a slightly off colored joke.

Glad you liked CR.
