I just saw the movie, and even though Mr. White gets shot in the beginning (and I presumed him dead), we see him at the opera. Did I miss something? Does this mean that we may see him Bond 23? Please give me your thoughts...

He was never shot in the beginning. He escaped the safehouse soundly, and, evidently, went unnoticed by Bond at the opera, and thus escaped again. I suspect we'll see him again down the road.

They need something to keep a story around for the future. I think it makes for interesting ideas.

A stray shot from Mitchell hits him in the shoulder.

Was it stray though, or was Mitchell deliberately trying to kill him, to prevent MI6 from getting info out of him? Either way, he certainly didn't die. We saw him lying on the floor, and then when Bond came back, White had gone.

Possibly, but I don't think it was intentional. Bond is shoving his arm in White's direction when the gun goes off.

Thanks for correcting me on that point. One more reason why I need to go see the film again!

what do you mean 'moved to spoilers forum?'

i find it interesting that the only vehicle around at the end of casino royale was white's jaguar, yet in the beginning of QoS, he is in the trunk of the aston martin dbs. bond must have had time to stop at the local aston dealer and pick up a new dbs, since his was wrecked in casino royale. i think it would make more sense to use whites jaguar to bring him to the interrogation room, and have M get him a new car afterwords. it may have led to a lengthier car chase later on in the movie. Craig's aston martins don't seem to last past one scene (unfortunately)...just a thought. :(

Maybe Bond told M about Vesper's text, they set up the Mr. White snatch-and-grab, she gave him an Aston Martin (mi6 standard issue of course)and ordered him to take him to the safehouse they have in Siena.

This thread contains spoilers, so this is where it belongs, as not everyone has necessarily seen the movie yet.

Bond would have been provided with a new car, so that he could drive to Mr White's house.

Bond is on professional assignment at the end of CR - we know this, because his job turned out to be bringing White from his villa to M, who is waiting at the MI6 safehouse in Sienna. He was no doubt equipped in the field exactly as he was when he arrived in Montenegro.
