Any Chance We Could Maybe, You Know, Get Along?

Things on CBN have become increasingly, what's the word, frosty over the past few weeks since Quantum of Solace was released. The joy of living in a free world is that we are all entitled to an opinion. And we should be able to share those opinions without fear of being bashed for having said opinions.
Let's get something straight about Quantum of Solace. People loved it. People liked it. People disliked it. People hated it. That is their opinion and they are entitled to it. Brilliant, right?
What's not needed is a barrage of abuse for speaking your mind. Nobody is a retard. Nobody is an idiot. Stuff like that is not needed, nor is it welcome on the boards. Healthy debate is welcome. You liked Quantum of Solace? Great. Let's discuss it. You didn't like Quantum of Solace? Great. Let's discuss that too.
But please, leave the childish insult-throwing, name-calling and all around bad feelings off the community. The last thing anybody wants is for cracks to form and for people to start taking sides. Afterall, we're here for one reason: Bond.
But lately, things have definitely changed.
This has been a public service announcement by a nobody.
Thank you.

Some people have been ridiculing the syndrome in order to bash the people who like it (QoS). I thought it was offensive.
Just my 2 cents.

I'm a nobody here, but I've got something to say. Mods, I hope you don't mind me starting a thread about this.

You are absolutely right.
But an intense debate is a good thing on a message board, isn´t it?
I apologize to anyone whom I might have offended.
I just want people to explain their dislike instead of ranting or stating opinions as facts without giving examples.

I agree this is a well disciplined message board. Others i have been to have been like being in the middle of a football game on sunday afternoon. Not good.Yes occationally people do get a little out of hand, but for the most part - this is the most courteous Bond message board I have visited. Occationally I go to IMDB and that is nothing but a trash fest.

But what disease or group of people would've been a politically correct reference? The blind? The mentally challenged?
Why use a disease analogy at all, regardless of "correctness"? It's a film. This "editing/directing a film" and "having a disease" thing is mystifying.
And please, everyone, can we all stop using the word "retarded" or things along the same lines. It's really not a ) sophisticated or b ) nice.
Panache, my lovelies; panache.

Yes. Maybe you should have.I have ADD (not a joke). I had it discovered late in my teenage years. I don't really want to get into specifics, but I went through a lot of garbage before I was diagnosed.
Some people have been ridiculing the syndrome in order to bash the people who like it (QoS). I thought it was offensive.
Just my 2 cents.
I don't know if this is a refernce to my post about the film looking like it was directed by a person with Parkinsons for an audience suffering from ADD, but if it was I can assure you there was no intent to 'ridicule' or "bash" people with either disease, nor have I seen anyone using such people as cannon fodder. But what disease or group of people would've been a politically correct reference? The blind? The mentally challenged?
Maybe I should've just said that the first 30-40 minutes looked like it was directed and edited by an epileptic monkey.

What´s with the prejudice against sick monkeys now? Can´t you just state that it was too fast for you?
If you want to laugh at monkeys, stick to this one, please:

Ban all members who didn't at least "like" QoS. Problem solved.
No. And there are no such things as problems here, simply opportunities for solution.
It is not what is said. It is how it is said. This has always been the case and will continue to be so.
