Still, I'd rather stick with November. Preferrably 2010.

I wouldn't build your hopes up for this. As Matt's article says, 2011 is a far more realistic prospect given the current status of production for BOND 23, i.e. zero.I agre November 2010 sounds honestly perfect.

The 50th anniversary of the Bond film series is something that cannot go unnoticed. Granted, there will be plenty of promotions and celebrations even if a Bond film isn't released, but EON really needs to try and put a Bond film out in time for the celebration. Give us Bond 23 in 2010 and then Bond 24 in 2012, it's not that hard, and let's be honest, it's not that hard writing a Bond script.
I honestly think that we could have got at least two more films from Brosnan if they would have followed the traditional two year pattern. 1999: TWINE comes out. Then, DAD should have been released in 2001, Bond 21 in 2003, Bond 22 in 2005, and then a new Bond could have been introduced for 2007. Just pondering though, nothing more, nothing less. I just don't want a similar thing to happen to Craig.

Only for merchandising and that's it. Release some 50th anniversary crap and be done with it. Leave it out of the films.

Agreed. I was thrilled that they passed up the marketing opportunities that the year 2007 would have afforded them, and I certainly wouldn't mind if they pass up the 50th anniversary as well. I'm more interested in seeing good films than I am at having the entire production schedule put in place a certain way for the sole purpose of having a certain marketing strategy.

honestly We have other thing to look foward Activision promised a 007 game every year.
but on the same token what if by febuary they have an awesom script qand by June/ July we have a director then maybe november 2010 might be much more realistic.

Well this are good news, let's speculate.
Anyway to the people who has been saying that Craig will quit after Bond 23, proof please? He signed for four movies, remember that.
This could be the best Bond movie, they have EVERYTHING they need, Craig -the best James Bond-, Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright, 2 1/2 years to write, film and merchandise, Q, Moneypenny, Omega, Aston Martin. Now we need a really hot and interesting babe.. wait, Camille was intended to return right?
Oh God!

Indeed. I also recall some earlier comments from Wilson indicating how exhausting the Quantum of Solace production was and that they would be jumping immediately into Bond 23.

Call me a doubting thomas but I don't see any offical Implications one way or the other. Yes u could read into it that 2011 is ideal however The stars could align and they could get a first draft and dirctor and start scouting by late summer 09. Casting takes place the fall/winter and filming begins in January 2010 is it impossible no. is it possible yes.I wouldn't build your hopes up for this. His age won't be a factor. Craig is 40 and has two Bond films under his belt. Brosnan was 42 in 1995 when he had only done one Bond film.I want Craig to do more than 3 films, he deserves to. I hope the age thing doesn't become a factor, though.

Yes but remember, there's people who despite being old, they look young and viceversa, so let's hope Craig's face to stay young. His age won't be a factor. Quantum to return= Will reserve judgement until seeing QOS
3 year gap= Not good. But I understand the production these days are much bigger. Let's just hope there are no more delays.

I do understand that they need more time to prepare. It is probably no bad idea to give a lot of thought to the next film. They also need to find out what will become relevant after the Bush era, how the world will change, whether darkness and grittiness will prevail or a more positive, relaxed world view will emerge. For Bond to stay relevant this is totally necessary.
But I would have loved to see the next one in two years. One more year of waiting.
Oh, boy...
P.S. A three-year-gap will diminish the chances of Craig doing more than four films, unfortunately. In 2011 he will be 43. Add to that another two or three years-gap and he will be 45/46 in Bond 24. If they don´t keep up the pace, Craig would be 48/49 for Bond 25 - hard to believe. Although I would like him to age within the role. He could really go out as an ageing Bond then.

It will be a 4 year wait, they will never miss all the free marketing that comes with the 50th anniversary. And then Craig is too old for a fourth film.
And you would like that?

With this news, my prediction for the release will be June 10, 2011. Just a random shot in the dark, but to fit it into Mr. Wilson's plan. Definitly prefer a summer date over the winter, even that means waiting longer.
A summer release would be a nice change. I hope we don't have to wait 3 years. There's no reason why we should have to. It was Brosnan I read that wanted the large gap between his crappy films. 2 and a half years would be a good compromise between the big guns and us fans.

1) 2011 is too late. Why not 2010 when you start on the script at January ? EON is again playing with the traditions. 2 years is fine. Also we have 2012, 50 years of 007. They have to use it.
2) I do really like Wright. But Felix Leiter in all subsequent 3 movies. I dont like that idea. Give him a 1 film break and get him back for 2012.
3) Again S. America ? Why not Asia or Africa ? Africa had little time in 007 movies and has lots of things to use. Bring Africa and Asia to the screen.
4) Find good actors for Q and Moneypenny.
5) PLEASE dont have a Bond car again. If you want a big change dont use a car (Aston Martin, BMW, Lotus etc). Connery had 1, Moore had 1. After Brosnan I am sick of Bond cars in every film. If you want for the films to be realistic than dont use a car for just ONCE!
6) If we are going to have the 3 year gap than film Bond 23 and 24 back to back with a great Quantum story. With Bond dealing with the head of Quantum in Bond 24. And use the brainwashing and Garden Of Death from Fleming.
7) EON start to work ! Dont waste time!

I agree, I'm sure they will celebrate 50 years of Bondfilms in 2012. Mayby they'll made Bond 23 in 2011 and then Bond 24 in 2012. But it personally doesn't really bothered me that much. There have been made 22 official Bondfilms now and we Bondfans are so lucky they still keep going! That's what's great about 007, it's like it never stops. We are the most lucky fans of a franchise ever!
Altrough, a new Bondfilm sounds always good.

i still say we are making a Mile high moutnain out of a few scraps.
2010 Is not impossible Perhaps Wilson has a few general idea and will sit down in january and write it out and the due date will be novmeber 2010.
Heck If i rember correctly first Bond 22 was speculated at having a 2007 release date then a May 2008 release date and now it's relased in november.
Bond 23 could have a reverse effect Everyone is saying 2011 now (some even saying summer 2011) and then as writing being the date MAY be pulled back to November or perhaps earlier 2010.

The 2011 timeline, IMHO, is just so the producers won't look bad if they are late for 2010.
Here is to the 18/24 month wait.

I'd rather they took their time and did it right, and not rush things for a 2010 release. Saying that both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace both began filming at the start of the year in which they are released. So if they start work the beginning of next year that gives then a whole year for script, and preproduction work 2010 should be achievable. What I am a little concerned about is the year 2011. That is three long years of waiting! I just can't go through 3 years without a new James Bond film with Daniel Craig in the leading role! I just can't!
Let's hope for 2010 everybody!
