Pros

•DC was magnificnet once again. I still don’t understand how some ppl critize his performance about being really pissed. It was supposed to be amusing in many ways, that’s why so many cracks about it . It was on purpose that the character was knocking off every possible lead, until the end. He learns his lesson. He gets his answers from Greene, and leaves him to his death. He could have killed him. He could have killed Yusef. Again chose not. Whoever said that Bond didn’t learn his lesson in QoS?

•Forster got great performances out of everyone. Even the smaller parts of Medrano and Fields were really terrific. I had never heard of either till QoS, and I have to say they did an outstanding job with their parts. Medrano was such a sleazebag. Licking the waitress, lusting after her. “Please take the beer to my room”. Awesome. Talking about smaller parts, how about David Harbour. On the plane, how he acts like a jerk laughing, then turns in on, agreeing to wipe out 007. Terrific! Even Cuervo was a pretty amazing sleazebag.

•This Felix Leiter is the best ever. I want to see more of him in B23. I think we will, since M mentions that he is promoted, taking Beam's spot. That gives me hope we’ll see more of him in future installments.

•Amalric was great! I loved the way he treated Camille. (In my head I’m still going “Camille”…….His delivery was wonderful, especially with his heavy french accent) . I loved how he screams while swinging that axe, how he uses Elvis as a shield. Awesome how he convinces Medrano to take up the new enhanced deal, reminded me of Darth Vader to Lando in ESB. I truly enjoyed the whole interaction in the plane to Bregenz, between Greene, Elvis, Beam, and Leiter. How they study each other's reactions. Just superb. Amalric has a diminished role in comparisson to LeChiffre in CR. But people, remember that QoS is a direct sequel to CR. It’s the third act of Casino Royale. Initially I wanted QoS to be just the same type of movie CR was. But after watching QoS, it now makes perfect sense to add a stylish and intense chapter to come full circle in the Bond Begins story.

•The music was masterful. I’ve heard the soundtrack so many times, that coming in I knew the name of (most, since not all where included in the OST) the tracks while they were being played. Fantastic experience.

•Giannni was amazing as Mathis. Even better than he was in CR. I am truly sad that he is gone. His chemistry with Bond is brilliant. At his villa, and especially at the airplane. When they talked about pills, wow, I was LOL. His dying words to Bond were extraordinary, and vital to help him finally understand that Vesper truly loved him.

•Camille was terrific. Not as good as Eva Green’s Vesper, but she did her part. And she did it well. From the clips I wasn’t too keen on her spanish accent, but when I saw the entire performance I bought it.

•I thought the action was really good. I loved the AM chase. The rooftop chase. How the camera comes in crossing the lake and slowly approaching the tunnel before we see the chase itself had me thrilled and put a huge smile on my face, as I knew what was coming. The boat chase was my least fav action piece, but when Bonds flees inside the boat with Arnold’s music playing was just terrific.

•I really enjoyd how White is talking about Quantum, when Mitchell turns, and shoots. That was really eye-popping.

•I really enjoyed at the opera scene how the sound of bullets and ppl screaming is diminished in favor of music, kinda like the Godfather. Just brilliant.

•So many lines to choose from as my favorites. Those 30 seconds of Bond’s farewell to Greene. Throwing the can, what he tells him about it, and the delivery of “Goodbye Mr. Greene” was so brilliant.

•I loved how Quantum has ppl inside the CIA, MI6, even close to the PM. How Mitchell has a clean record, and was M’s personal bodyguard, and was actually a double agent. I don’t understand why some ppl can’t see that Quantum is just introduced in this film for later development. And what we know so far is pretty cool. They even work directly with G8 governments. It’s in my opinion, a pretty scary introduction of Quantum. I can’t wait for more in the future.

•The gunbarrel was great. One hand. Sleek. I didn't mind it at the end.

•The work by MK12 was better than I expected. Loved the sand.

Cons

•M’s office. It looked like it came from DAD. I hated it.

•There are little things. Like the unnecessary boat chase, or the lack of explanation of why Bond decides to help Camille.

•The plane looked CGI’ed right before it becomes toast. The fall was a little out there.

•I'm sad Mathis is gone. I hate Fleming originals dying. And he was played brilliantly.

•I do think that the movie could have used a little more of those quiet moments.

•AWTD. It's an awful song, but it didn't bother me much while it played. I was too entertained by MK12's brilliant job.

With all the negativity that has been written, I went in with very low expectations. But this movie was even better than OK. QoS ROCKED!! For me, this movie will always be the Third act of Casino Royale. CR by itself is for me the best Bond movie ever. Adding QoS just makes it even better. I'm ready to post my ranking now!

9/10

M's office looked like the offices seen in the CSI tv shows. It only stands to reason that MI6 should look that way too.

Glad you liked it bondrules! :(

So finally, did you see yourself on the big screen?

Amalric was great! I loved the way he treated Camille. (In my head I’m still going “Camille”…….His delivery was wonderful, especially with his heavy french accent).

By the way, I was under the impression that Amalric's accent is less heavy in real life (from some interviews I've heard on video clips). Maybe he overplayed it for the movie? Did anyone else notice this?

I sure did. Although I didn't get a close-up, I made it into 3 scenes!

First, when Bond arrives at the Grand Andean (the fancy/minimalist hotel). I was dressed all in black, standing on the stairs to the far right. There is a girl walking up to greet someone, I am the last guy standing on the far right.

Then, when Bond, Mathis, and Fields are taken to their room, there is a shot of 2 ppl having coffee. A girl and myself. You can't see my face, and it goes by really quick, but that's me. I'm dressed all in black as well. We shot those scenes during the same day.

Finally at the party, after Greene is done with his speech, if you take a look at the adjacent balcony, that would be your left, I am applauding, I wear a red tie and light blue shirt w/a white collar...the picture is not 100% clear, since the camera is focusing on Dominic Greene. If it helps, I look like a skinny Scott Stapp (the lead singer from Creed).

Some other ppl got really sweet closeups, but I can't complain. :(

I seen it for the 2nd time today and I have to say, after understanding everything properly and seeing things make sense, i'd definately rate it very highly!! Although its still no casino royale, its nonetheless a top notch bond film with so many subtle elements about his character drawn in, intelligently made!!!

Last night I slept like a baby. All of my fears are gone now.

QoS closes the CR chapter with flying colors!
