Quantum of Solace only opened today in Israel, and I'm just coming back from the screening...

WOW !!! I was so worried before but it turned to be, by far, one of the best Bond films ever. Really brillant, clever... I really enjoyed it, even more than Casino Royale.

I'm just wondering something. How is it possible that people didn't understand the story ??? The plot was clearly understandable, and I must say that the film was in English, subtitled in Hebrew and I'm a French-speaking guy...

I loved the style, the way that the story makes us move from one location to another. Every choice made by Marc Forster or the producers became so obvious, even concerning the one concerning the gunbarrel, or the movie length. I really understand now why it's "just" 1h40. Quantum of Solace is simple full of "non-dits". No need to explain every scene.

It's funny to notice that, finally, most of the negative reviews repeat the same things that are simply not true. The famous "too much action" or the Bourne comparison. It's the first time, since a very long time, that a Bond film has a real identity of his own.

I found also so clever the way that the "money shots" have been used: simply not as money shot. Comparing with the lenghty Aston Martin roll sequence in Casino Royale, the free fall sequence, the Alfa Romeo fall are there only to serve the story. No need to see it from every angle... By the way, great job from the MK12 (particularily on the locations), even if I must confess I prefer Daniel K.'s touch on titles...

No need to repeat what great reviews have already said on Craig perfect acting, Camille's character, Bond-M relationships, Bond-Mathis relationships, Quantum threat...

For those who have not seen the movie yet, please forget all that you've already read. This is a brillant film. Enjoyable and much much more intelligent than you think.

Finally, I think, without exagerating, that unlike what negative reviews have repeated, Quantum of Solace is not the weak sequel of Casino Royale. It's Casino Royale which is movie that installed the story for the best part.

One of the best Bond film ever... !!!

[PS: As I've already said it, I'm French, so sorry for the lazy English...]

I love it when right after reading a negative review and getting depressed, I read a positive one and realise there is still hope. November 14th-hurry up!

You may love it. You may hate it. But at least one thing we can almost all agree with is that you won't be indifferent to it. I absolutely love it. Doubtless someone will be along in a minute telling you why you should hate it.

This is a great review, by the way, and one I agree with.

I am one of those rare chaps caught up in the middle.

I much prefer it to the Brosnan era movies (partly because I like Craig's portrayal more), but it isn't a patch on Casino Royale or other top notch Bond movies. Parts of it work, parts of it don't. Definitely has a few issues, which might be in part down to the writers strike, part down to the tight production schedule, part down to a couple of dubious creative choices. Overall, it's a decent enough film - but it might have been a great film with just a bit more work and attention to detail.

You're telling me! One day I had the misfortune of reading Graham Rye's 'review', so I cheered myself up by rewatching the trailer and listening to "Another Way to Die" (don't laugh).
