The premiere was piss poor, everything was cordoned so i couldn't see anyone.....as for the film, I really hate to say it, but I wish reviewers actually liked action films because my feeling with most of the reviews was that they completely missed the point of the film.
Quantum doesn't hide what it is, a continuation of Casino, but its also a launch pad for Bonds career.
I'm not going to go in depth about the story or characters because these should be taken in by all your good selves, what i will concentrate on is the editing and pacing of the film which for me, was the only bad points. The editing was way too fast, a kind of blink and you'll miss it style of movement, the same can be said for the camera; being right in on the action can be good, if your watching on the small screen but on the cinema....a big no... cant wait for the dvd release so i can actually watch the fights without feeling sick, i had the same feeling with the dark knight which i watched at the IMAX!
Anyway I digress, Quantum is a film that beautifully constructs the final stages of Bonds morph from casino Bond to erm ....BOND. The story is A typical of a bond film no more no less with fantastic nods to previous films in the Bond series.
Most reviewers have said that it felt like the second part to a trilogy, I disagree completely, Quantum is a sequel yes, and it does leave questions, questions that will be answered in the rest of the SERIES, thats right Bond has been and always will be a series of films and Quantum, leaps Bond back into that direction. Just think of quantum as the bit they missed off the end of Casino Royale and you'll be fine.
Overall I was in awe of this film 8/10, only downgraded from a 9 due to the headache I had, due to the afore mentioned Camera/editing style.
Great film now go and see it...then buy the game....then try and remember where Michael Wilson was in quantum (tip:
