In short I am a little confused by the latest bond film. I'm a big BIG fan of James bond and I waited weeks for this!! The reviews said things that clashed and I can see why. The action sequences where ALL superbly edited and really well done. However they were also very short. This big car chase at the start felt like it was about 2minutes long. As did the footchase after it although it ended in a rather spectacular fashion. The action in casino royale was good but it was also well spread out and quite long each time it happened. In QOS the action is more frequent and definately better but each scene is also a lot shorter!!

A lot of the reviews said it had too much action and not enough dialogue. I beg to differ. There was a lot of dialogue and a lot of humour although very few of it is from bond himself. The plot wasn't as complex as the reviews said it was, I followed it easily, almost too easily. This was my big concern with the movie, there was little to no plot! Limited mention of vesper! NOOOO Answers!!! The film is basically a revenge mission loaded with action sequences. Bond is exceptionally angry but the problem is it's never explained, you definately need to watch casino royale to understand. It felt very similar to die another day in some respects except it had a bit extra wit and better action. The dual fights at the end especially had resemblence. The way the car chase is when you first meet camille resembles a car advert!!

I don't really get the ending either and the way the gunbarrel sequence ended didn't satisfy (it was far 2 quick)!! However the film had fantastic action, plenty of memorable moments and it did feel like a bond film! The dialogue, the music, the way it was shot! It wasn't bourne like at all!! However I went in with high expections (thats perhaps the problem) and I left somewhat disappointed despite actually enjoying the film. Thats very confusing I know but perhaps thats down to the fact that the action was good but the answers I was expecting weren't there. Vesper is mentioned maybe 3 r 4 times in the entire film!! The action makes this film and I do recommend you all go and see it. However it's definately not Casino Royale calibre!

The gunbarrel signifies that the "Vesper adventure" is over. He's thrown off his baggage and become the spy we know and love.

"You were right about vesper" whats that about? Was she right about she loved him and made a deal for his life? That finale scene with yusef was one of the best scenes in the film...underused!! Its funny that the last seconds of the film where bond talks with m in the snow was one of the 1st scenes filmed!! I find that amuzing. Either way I did enjoy the film, the action mainly was what made it, not enough emphasis on plot although it's not as bad as everyone is saying! I just was hoping for more on vesper but as Daniel said. It's a bond film, not a deep psychological thriller
