Double 0 Section, MI6
Vauxhall Cross, Westminster, London

From the desk of:
Frederick Castles
Section Head

Subject: James Bond A.K.A. Agent 007

Facts of the Circumstance:

Konrad Lapuski, a known Red Mafiya assassin, in one of the vintage Spitfires taking part in the aerobatics, attempted to wipe out the Royal House of Windsor with a smart bomb in the recent commemoration of the Battle of Britain, where one of the highlights was the presence of all the monarchs. His bid was foiled by the subject operative in an act very heroic deserving recognition, saving countless of innocent spectators as collateral damage. It could have been a total triumph had the assassin been caught.

For months, Lapuski had eluded detection of the MI6, until Agent 006 was slain by Yuri Togano, a known close friend and associate of Lapuski’s, in an open-category martial arts match in Las Vegas. Yuri Togano was defeated by Mr. Bond in similar contest, but trails to Lapuski vanished when Togano’s van mysteriously burst to flame the following day, instantly killing him.

An opportunity surfaced when the former head of this section, known only as M, received a communiqué from an unknown individual -- which was later identified as Riyana Ramozova, a burglar thief and Lapuski’s former lover – claiming she has Lapuski’s file and willing to part with it for ₤10,000,000.xx worth of uncut diamonds. The file was stolen by Ramozova, using a perfect camouflage suit made of nanites, from a vault in J. Edgar Hoover Building – one of the world’s most secured places. It was learned that Lapuski was in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s witness protection program to guarantee prosecution of known Mafiya hierarchs operating in the North American Continent. M authorized the pay-off, but the subject agent fell emotionally attached to the cat burglar, letting her outwit him, returning home without the file and the diamonds. Agent 007 received no less than a reprimand from the former section head.

A second opportunity presented itself when a certain sheikh, who had previous dealings with the Ramozova woman, was located. MI6 set up a sting operation for her capture. A manuscript was prepared in the Q Lab to pass as pages of the Qur’an written by the hands of Mohammad himself. Agent Double 0 7 was allowed the use of a prototype Jaguar that throws holograms for concealment and deception for this operation. CIA, which received a video of the cat burglar’s earlier rendezvous with the subject agent, leaked by none other than Lapuski, dispatched a SEAL team for their capture. This second opportunity was a fiasco, like the first, as Ramozova was under the custody of the subject agent, was allowed to just walk away.

While the problem as viewed from the surface as MI6’s intent to capture England’s most wanted criminal, has a much deeper implication. With Lapuski roaming free, he was able to use the American Justice System to wrestle the Organyzatsia’s top leadership, putting the world under his thumb. The Red Mafiya is the most dangerous single crime organization because it has in its menu most of the pilfered warheads from the former Soviet Empire.

It seems that the double whammy committed by the love-struck agent were not enough, a third was just around the bend. Mr. Bond had the third chance of redeeming his much-soiled reputation when Ramozova sneaked in his bedroom. The cat burglar left, leaving him nothing but the reminder of the song she had hummed in their first two trysts. Just as the first two, the third was the most unexpected because by that time Lapuski had amassed enough power for world domination, and reliable intel points that he had successfully smuggled nuclear devices in New York, Los Angeles, Sydney, Kuwait and possibly London – ready to sell to the highest bidder and can be remotely activated by a cellphone – exposing the said cities under the mercy of terrorists and extortionists.

Conclusion:

It is therefore conclusive that the agent in question had acted contrary to the interest of the crown. Caution should be taken for his neutralization. Subject is armed, expert in martial arts and very dangerous. He is currently in possession of a stolen field weapon prototype with advance aiming technology known as RATS for Retina Assisted Targeting System.

Course of Action:

In view of the above, I, Frederick Castles, head of the elite Double 0 Section, is left with no alternative but to affix my signature on this document to seal the order FOR¬¬_EXPEDIENT DEMISE to the subject, the former agent 007, Mr. James Bond.

This decree is IRREVOCABLE, to be carried out IMMEDIATELY and WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE.

Signed,
Frederick Castles

:(

This story deserves more attention than it's gotten! A great literary piece that would also make a fine film, if I may say so myself. :)

Great job, Mr. Laurenciano.:)

Hi! Yes I will gladly take a take a peek. :( I'm waaay behind in my CBn reading due to a crazy home life as of late, I haven't even done my own writing either. :) But I plan on reading this as well as a couple other things as soon as I can carve some time away. Hopefully that time will be a little today and a little tomorrow. :)

Lyrics to the A SONG IN THE NIGHT theme song

A Song in the Night

words and music by
Gene O. Laurenciano

Intro…

1

A song in the night
You came to me like a song in the night
A master thief prowling by
You stole my heart with just a smile

2

A song in the night
I came to you like a song in the night
A lonely shadow finding another
What are the chances for perfect strangers?

Bridge

A dance, could a dance bring us closer?
Could a dance make us forget?
The solitude we left?

refrain

Perhaps some wine, perhaps champagne
Lively talks, laughter and games
Anything to make you stay
To hold you tight ‘til the break of day

Adlib…

3

Unlike a song in the night
That floats for a fleeting time
You could have stayed forever
We could be the best of strangers

(instrumental)

refrain 2

Perhaps more wine and more champagne
Bedroom talks, a lovers’ game
Anything to make you mine
To hold you tight ‘til the end of time

But like a song in the night
You had to go away

short adlib (horns)

4

Like a song in the night
You’re gone in the morning light
I know you won’t come back to me
Why is it that you have to be

Another song
in the night.

I was thinking of Michael Buble singing this if ever I'd be lucky to see my novel on the big screen. The melody had already been composed and I wish there is a way I could share the song with all the James Bond fans all over the world. For now, I have to make do with only the lyrics.

One of the monitors lit up. Llantinov saw a mushroom cloud rising. It was also seen by Pentagon and Nina Dolinova. Then the image skewed, blinked and faded to gray pixels.
“An atom bomb had been detonated --” confirmed the National Security Agency linkup.
The people who had seen the cloud and heard the confirmation were silenced in utter disbelief.
