I never heard of this chap outside these forums.
He surely has the looks for it and could've been, look-wise, perfect for young Bond. But maybe it's just me seeing things because he's wearing exact replica of the suit/style worn by Craig in CR posters
Besides, the next one should be someone who'd look like a Russian boxer.. someone like that, plus one who has some serious acting chops

interesting...Cavill Schmavill. The only one of the Final Four with any chance of succeeding Craig is still Ewan Stewart:
What do you think makes him a perfect candidate SpyNovelfan?

The brits have over the generations spread their seeds in ever part of this planet, so a non white person called James is possible.

Would a non-white guy ever get the role, regardless of political correctness?

Christian Bale looks interesting!
I think that by the time Daniel Craig comes to move on.. Bale will be a A-List Celebrity, So It seems doubtful. He will be too famous. Though saying that... he does have the Bond look.

That's right! He has the Bond look. Isaw the trailer of the "Dark Knight" a couple of days ago and said: "This fellow has it, for real!".

Henry is an interesting choice, but he doesn't look "brutal" to take the part. Maybe is his role on "The Tudors" that created that opinion to me. His appearance, though takes a 10!
Pierce Brosnan hardly looked brutal during his run in Remmington Steele. He barely had that edge even as Bond, but admittedly from TND onwards he was looking less prim and clean cut than in GE.

I know that I threw Bale's name out there. But I am sort of waffling after what I've read about him in The Dark Knight (or haven't heard rather).
And I know that he did not write the script for Batman Begins. But I just don't think that he showed enough gravitas in the role. Batman/Bruce Wayne is supposed to be way more confident. The insecurity is a turn off and Batman is supposed to be more self-assured.
I know that he was offered to audition for Bond, but he said no citing the fact that he was too young and wanted a better scripts for the film(this was pre-CR).
I guess time will tell how Mr. Bale pans out, and whether he's worth being Bond. Though I much prefer him to Cavill.

I recall the build-up to the announcement of who was going to play Bond in CR and Martin Campbell stated that Bond was going to be in his twenties and a fresh double-o. So I was surprised they went for a 37 year-old Craig.
After the movie wrapped up, Campbell then stated that Cavill had been fantastic during the test screenings but the producers thought he was too young (I think he was twenty two at the time). I got the sense that Cavill was Campbell's choice, which would explain his 'Bond in his twenties' statement. And as far as I am aware, Campbell never mentioned anybody else who tested. That is pretty glowing praise for an unknown. I think if it wasn't for his age, we'd be seeing Cavill in the role today as I think he did have a very good shot.
As for the future, he looks like the character but lacks the gravitas (TM Emma ). As he gets older that will come. As for Bale, please no. I've been bored to death with his Batman portrayals however I did enjoy American Psycho and The Prestige. But he's lacking a little something. Don't know what...I find his Bruce Wayne rather uninspired.

Dunhill have launched a television commercial campaign for their new 'London' fragrance with actor Henry Cavill.
The name will be familiar to fans who followed the casting of the sixth James Bond back in 2005. Cavill, an actor from the Channel Islands, was one of the three finalists who screentested in Pinewood Studios. The other two contenders were Australian actor Sam Worthington and Daniel Craig.
Aside from using a 007-contender, the new Dunhill advert takes more than a few themes from the 2006 blockbuster "Casino Royale", complete with loosened bow-tie, blue-hues similar to the film's poster, and a huge Union Jack.
The 40-second advert gives Bond fans a little hint as to what things could be like had Cavill won the role.
David Arnold, who scored the screentests, said Craig's competitors "were terrific, but very different. Henry Cavill was more traditional and Sam Worthington was very young. But I think Barbara Broccoli had her eye on Daniel for a long time."
The music for the Dunhill spot was produced by Adelphoi Music Ltd.
Former James Bond actors Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan were all seriously considered for the 007 role years ahead of them ultimately slipping in to the famous tuxedo. So in a few years time, when Daniel Craig decides to holster the PPK, do not be surprised if Cavill is back in the frame.
