I was hoping for a long fifth book, as it could possibly be the last from Higson.

Well, actually, I was just having fun in that article. I asked Charlie in our BRC Q&A how long the book was and he said it was about the same as the others. But that's still a good length book.

Shame there's no listing for this on Amazon UK - then it'd be a lot easier to track down.

I've found it on some Australian websites like Booktopia, but postage is ridiculous. Not sure yet how I'm going to get this.

Haven't physically been able to spot this in either Angus & Robertson or Collins Bookshop (who is usually dead on time with Young Bond releases) yet, and I've been checking everyday for the past 3 days. Makes me wonder if it is indeed released in Australia at all yet?

Yeah, I don't know what's going on. I suppose we'll just have to wait this out.

The audiobook's not due out until 29 September, according to Penguin Australia, so maybe this will be released alongside that.

Maybe it's not released yet? The Booktopia listing just says September 2008. However, the Penguin Australia listing -- the source of this article -- is gone.

I'll ask Penguin about it this week.

EDIT: Penguin South Africa shows a Oct 1 release date. So does Infinitas Bookshop.

Ah, hopefully around there then. Perhaps we'll all get lucky and some copies will pop up on eBay.

Australia rarely gets books as soon as they're published in the UK, so I'd be surprised if it was released any earlier than the end of this month.

Landed what I believe is the cover art. Still don't have solid info on this edition, but I expect it will be out near the end of the month or early Oct.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the feedback.

I think the UK paperback will probably follow suit and use the same cover as seen on the hardback and the International Edition. Unlike the all gold HG cover, an image is right there for the taking. I would like to see something else all the same, though.

Oh, I think it might be a little different just so it matches the other paperbacks. Maybe they'll stick with the union jack idea, but it might be a different image.

In the very first page of my international edition of BRC, it has the synopsis rundown, and at the bottom the statement "Life for James Bond will never" in bold. The rest of this slogan, being "be the same again", is absent. Unusual.

Is this the same for any other people?

IFP missed a trick by not having Mega feature as the token animal on the By Royal Command paperback.

Although that pic make the book look smaller -- almost like a mass market size. But it isn't.
