I once seen somewhere that a rival company wanted to make it's own James Bond movie like with NSNA but it would still be staring Sean Connery as an older James Bond. Does anybody know wether this was true or if they are still trying to make the movie. I think it would be a terrible idea and I wouldn't have thought connery would want to make the movie. So what does everybody else think of the idea if it was true and who do you think would be the best person to take the role of an older James Bond.

In that case it would end up too much like the Rock. Plus I doubt Connery would ever do it again.

Sounds like more McClory kite flying to me.
Actually I'm going to go against the prevailing opinion and say I WOULD like to see this, if it was done well...not as part of the *real* Bond continuity, but as a sort of alternate reality thing.
Not that it will happen though.

I'd like to see Connery playing an older James Bond, maybe he could be pulled out of retirement for one last mission! :-)

Sounds like a McClory thing to me. Anyway we all know that the film would end with Bond dying near a waterfall!

Why do we all know that?

It would have to be done like something out of "The Rock" where he has to go on the mission because of his knowledge on a particular baddie or something.

So this IS a reference to the unwritten Amis story! That's so obscure that I thought I was missing something more obvious. One day, for my own amusement, I'm going to write the story that Glidrose forbade Amis to do.
