Excellent 'trailer', I must say. You know what it reminded me of? And this is going back some years, now. The trailer that Jacque Nexus released for his Silvertongue.

Thanks terminus. Glad you liked it and hope you'll like the story too.
As for you Jim the name is S P E A R H E A D And I'll be expecting some good, juicy criticism from you on this one. You left me wanting on Nobody Cheats Death. Don't worry I'm a strong man and I can take a beating so don't worry. Hope you have time to read it and criticize. I hear you don't wear kid gloves.

Hi Double-O-7 and terminus.

S P E A R H E A D
is a short story that takes place in 1982 and will 'expose' Bond's 'involvement' in the Falklands conflict. I am sure it will go down well with the literary Bond fans as a nice Saturday evening read. Shocking too!

IT IS ONE VERY SECRET OCCASION IN THE LIFE OF OO7

Cool.

Formatting is a bit off, everything seems to be aligned to the left and squished up, but it's still readable.

Hi terminus. Yes, I agree the formatting is poor. I am now working on
T R O U B L E S H O O T E R
and I think it's going to take some time to finish it (I've given myself till December 2008 to get it done). I'm not going to rush this time cause I want it to be better than NCD. We'll see. Anyway, thanks for the post and I await your feedback (positive or negative, don't worry be it what it is  ) on S P E A R H E A D.

Till then I'll see you

SPEARHEAD came out in time for me to read it before my trip last night. The length was just right for a short story and I liked how it got straight to the point and the action was immediate.

Thanks Harry!

As for Jim, I wonder if he read it? I'm still waiting to be knocked down off my silver cloud and brought down to the reality of being a [censored]e writer. Come on lad, show us the money

And what about Clinkeroo? Any chance of a review?

Ah, well...We'll just have to keep on trying.

You'll notice that I didn't say whether I liked it or not.

Actually, I did. Something different from the norm, and amusingly violent.

I'm flattered that you think my opinion worth waiting for. You just plough on, y'hear?

I finally read it!

Quite interesting insight of "Bond at war", and, as Jim pointed out, it's a shift of mood from the usual Bond universe. Unusually violent too, sometimes unsettlingly, but after all, so is war, isn't it? In a way, you fill the gap left by Fleming, who hinted at Bond's war experience, but never gave us any story about it  An as you seem to know quite well military matters, it's arguably an added value.

Keep up the good work, as usual!

Harry,
I look forward to the exclusive read of your next effort - just make sure you send it to Double-0-7 and not the one that spells out "seven"!

Glad to hear that Jim enjoyed it. I'm with him on appreciating the "amusing violence", especially the particularly effect method of dealing with hundreds of soldiers.

Right, eventually I read it all. Some good reading for the bus trip back from Uni today - loved the mention of License Renewed. Though it was period set, found myself viewing the Craig Bond, he's the only one who comes across as hardcore enough to carry out the actions detailed in the story. Guess the mentions of the Exocet provide set up for Troubleshooter? If so, should be interesting to see where it leads - and will Bond's compatriots turn up again (Faulks, a tip of the hat to a certain author, I presume ?)?

S P E A R H E A D. As for the Exocet providing the set up for Troubleshooter, is all I can say is no it has nothing to do with the story I'm writing at the moment. Having said that, yes two of his SPEARHEAD team mates do make an 'appearance'.
