After The Man with the Golden Gun makes barely a dent at the box office, the Bond producers realize they are in trouble. EON immediately moves to get rid of director Guy Hamilton, but wrangling over the new director forces co-producer Harry Saltzman to leave the project, leaving EON Productions to Albert R. Broccoli. Broccoli contacts Peter Hunt, director of OHMSS through LALD, to offer him the director

Very Good. The end was very entertaining. An interesting twist to an overall great story. I like the locations a great deal as well, very colorful in places such as Venice, Moscow, and Sydney.

The only complaint, I have to say, is the bashing of Roger Moore in the beginning. Come on, dude, he's great! Other than that, keep up the exceptional work!
Well, never fear; we'll be giving him a Bond movie soon enough...

I love Sir Rog in it, but I can easily imagine Laz playing Bond in The Spy Who Loved Me.
