I know there was the possibility of one in October, but I haven't heard anything about it lately. Wonder if it's still on? I'll try and check it out.

Well that didn't take long. Yep, it's confirmed for October. In fact, Charlie signed the books on the same day he sighed his 1500 copies of Hurricane Gold.

His hand must be really tired. :cooltongue:

How many copies of this special Double or Die edition is this? 1,000 again? 999?

Story updated with exact release date.

You know, I was never a huge fan of the Double or Die cover art, but for some reason, I picture this collector's edition as looking really sweet on the shelf.

Can't wait to see the final artwork (even if it will most likely mirror the previous two collector's edition hardback releases).

I'm usually not big on pre-ordering, but I'll make an exception for this limited edition. I've been able to find pretty decent prices on the first two through eBay, but it wasn't easy in either case. So my pre-order is already in!

Rather disappointed that the online orders were cancelled, and particulary since they didn't even notfy me that they had done so...

What's worse is when you write to Waterstone's asking what happened they send you this...

Thank you for your email.

We can confirm that the hardback version ISBN 0141384158 was cancelled by the publishers. However there is a paperback available with ISBN 9780141322032.

Leads you to believe there is no DoD Collectors Ed, doesn't it? But that isn't so.

Try ordering from Hatchards. They had the exclusive right to sell the other Collectors Eds online, so I believe this might still be good. I've put in an order. Waiting to see if it arrives.

It's worth a shoot before going to eBay and paying double the price or more.

Might have to go with Hatchards again. It worked with SilverFin, so...

If only that currency exchange wasn't such a bite in the :D lately.

Hatchard's are supplying the genuine article by mail order - got a copy Tuesday - so you should be okay.

And, as Zen knows, there are a few unsigned, un-numbered copies knocking about...

Oh, cool, thanks David. I didn't want to put this up on my site until I knew that someone actually received a copy from Hatchard's online (still waiting on mine).

I don't know if I should open it, should I?
There's a gummy bit where it looks like a sticker has been removed, though.

Depends if you want to read it! :D

Seriously, IMO, from an investment point of view, an unopened copy in the short term might be more valuable, but in time it should balance out.

Personnally, I'm not into investments I can't enjoy the benefit of having, and in the case of a book it means being able to read it, or at least flick through it. That's what its for.

Just my opinion, though.
