I'd like to add something to that list of favorite scenes, I did earlier.

The moment we see this Bond is something different, in the vein of Dalton & Connery, is when we first see black and white Bond beating the livin' crap outta the guy in the men's bathroom and drowning that punk. There was just 'something' in that scene, that made me wish Craig would be top of his game for the rest of the movie. It was just so powerful, and it show'd Bond's cold bloodness. Instant classic.

I surprise myself with this one - perhaps it's down to David Arnold's beautiful music - but I love the Bond/Vesper shower scene. Second to that is the 'Dinner jackets and dinner jackets' scene. Both are similar to each other, and not exactly action-packed, but rather are elegant and understated. Wonderful.

That's okay, I agree about the shower scene. Never have I ever seen such a scene in Bond where there is almost no dialogue, yet the scene itself speaks so strongly.

I agree that the PTS fight with Fisher showed us straight away, that this was a new type of Bond movie.

Second to that is the 'Dinner jackets and dinner jackets' scene.

Vesper looks so much better in that scene than in the rest of the film... it's weird.

The PTS, obviously.

The African chase (that bomber is AMAZING!) - no specific bits, the whole thing is great.

The poker scenes.

The airport

Pretty much any scene with M in.

Bond and Vesper's banter.

The name's Bond. James Bond.

Favorite scene? I think it was the part in between the MGM logo at the beginning up until he says "The name's Bond, James Bond".

Agreed. :cooltongue:

I have a favorite sequence. It starts with Bond spotting Le Chiffre receiving a note on the first night of the tournament during the break and it ends with Bond comforting Vesper in the shower.

I won't go into detail on this but the 'quieter' momments did it for me, because it gave a lot of insight into Bond.

-The scene in the Penthouse with M.
-The poker scene with Dimitrios
-The scene in the limo with Vesper where he teases her.
-The scene on the yacht at the end
-The bathroom scene with the dinner jacket.
-The scene where he shoots Dryden

and of course the train scene. Magic.

I think the Venice action finale is underrated round these parts. Its a different animal from the parkour scene, which is all flash and not really a substantial action scene (not that I'm knocking it, as the flash is very flashy indeed), but the Venice scene has higher stakes plot-and-character-wise. David Arnold's score really stands out in this scene too, as the building collapses and the fighting gets brutal. Really well done scene.

The torture scene is my favourite by far. It's simply fantastic, both the writing, the delivery of the lines, the set. Everything. Perfect Bond.

The shower scene, with the final scene a close second.

You beat me to it; I was going to write more or less the exact same words...

I would also have to say that the torture scene is a stand-out. I didn't think they'd ever manage to pull it off, but they did in spades. To have your hero stripped, tied-up and utterly defenceless and yet still come out on top is not easy to achieve. But they did it.

I love David Arnold's music in the shower scene. I also love his theme for Solange.
