Casino Royale made me 'jump' in my seat not once but TWICE!

1 - When Le Chiffre goes to his hotel room and finds Valenka on the balcony, and they are attacked mid-kiss

2 - At the end, when Mr.White is shot

Anyone else? I NEVER usually react to 'shockers' like this in movies

Yup both times for me too actually!! Although, I am in fact quite jumpy usually in movies. At least the girl I was with jumped too. I usually end up looking quite pathetic when she sits there without reacting

Same here. The actors that portrayed those men that attacked Le Chiffre were also great.

Only for when Mr. White was shot. I had read the script a few weeks before, but it was still a surprise they way it was filmed.

I saw it twice yesterday, and jumped at both scenes each time, even though I knew what was coming. I don't know how they managed the exact but eccentric timing that catches you off guard, but it was superb. I felt the same way about Bond jumping between the cranes and tearing through the drywall at the construction site; shocking and utterly seamless.

Yeah, I jumped at both scenes. I knew they were coming but, it still threw me off my seat! I ended up sitting rather embarassed even though others had also jumped...

I jumped at both. When Le Chiffre went up to his room (and Bond and Vesper went to go up to their room) I was expecting either an tense moment between the two, or some of Le Chiffre's guys to go after Bond. I didn't see that one coming.

Ditto with the second one. Mr. White had been talking about his organization, and I thought there'd at least be a clue to what that organization was before Bond took him out (I had a hunch that the group's name would be a 7 letter word for "ghost"). Not so much...

Yes, the first one got me big time. I felt like I was the only one who jumped though.

When Bond gets poisoned I did the slow climb out of the chair.. at first I was thinking "ok, he's been drugged".. but then as he started to look worse and worse, I started getting nervous.. by the time he got to the car, I was clutching the side of the chair and wimpering

Yes!! Especially at the hotel room/balcony scene. But I jumped at both the first time, but not the second - saw it back to back on opening night.
