Great review Dave. Glad to see that you believe the movie 'works' as a concept and is nicely paced. Look forward to seeing Craig's acting in the torture scene; all I've heard about that scene suggests that he performs to the extent of his ability during it. Such an exciting time right now as a Bond fan. 10 days... :)

Great review, Dave! Thanks for that. Personally, I don't think audiences are going to be missing the typical Bond formula elements much.

Awesome review!

It sounds like the action is all in the first half of the film.

Is that true, or is it pretty balanced before and after the card game sequence?

:), Dave - nice read. See you on the 14th! :P

Am I mean for wanting to check on the male audience's reaction during the torture scene?

I am, aren't I? :P

Though I'll probably be cringing myself.

Every male in the cinema was crossing their legs, cringing, squirming. It was painful.

What about the crediting of the story? Did Fleming get any kind of nod at all?

Like "Story by Ian Fleming -- Screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Paul Haggis"?

Or "Based on the novel, 'Casino Royale' by Ian Fleming"?

Or was it simply just "Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 in CASINO ROYALE"?

I can't remember exactly how it was worded, but Fleming got a nod, indeed.

If anyone should get a preview, it should be Dave. :) And this is a first for CBn. And proves that it's as important as any newspaper and site on the Internet.

It's a good review, Dave. And thank you for making your article honest and as reliable as could be.

Cheers,

Ian.
