Sorry, I was thinking the 50th anniversary next year for the literary Bond.
It's ok. It's very easy to confuse the two. But I'm now thinking more about will Brosnan return for Bond 21?

He said he wants to do a fifth. I hope he will.

Moore: More than we can count...
More than we can count? Well, I can count to 7, can't you Walther?

Casino Royale would be appropriate for Bond20 to me as it's the 50th anniversary of the book (one of my favorites). Brosnan would be great in it, but I hope he's not around for too much longer after 21. I'd rather not see another "senior citizen" Bond ala Moore.
PB has still 10 years to go before becoming Moore in AVTAK, do U think it's a bit too repetitive and early to keep constantly reminding us of the 'old age' of PB
and the relevance of Moore in AVTAK. Besides, I don't really care his biological age as long as he looks good and he looks a few years younger. All I hope is he can make it till Bond 21 and nothing more and he will definitely not stay after that, for sure.
BTW are U 'Blue Eye'?

2002 will not be the 50th anniversary of the book! 2003 will be. Casino Royale was published in 1953.

It depends on how you look at it. As I understand it the book Casino Royale was completed in 1952, making 2002 the 50th Anniversary of its completion. Either way Bond 20 will be the closest film to the anniversary and it would give MGM the opportunity to have a DVD release or special showings of the film on April 13, 2003, 50 years to the date of the book's first publishing.

If anything, it would be an excellent inducement for Brosnan to do a fifth movie.walther (02 Dec, 2001 09:23 p.m.):
I was thinking on a post yesterday, and I thought that if EON just got the rights to Casino Royale, they would probably wait till the 50th anniversary to release it. This is just a theory I had, but I figure will be on the 2nd person to play Bond after Brosnan. What do you think?

Why is that, bondgirl?bondgirl (03 Dec, 2001 02:45 a.m.):
Brosnan's fifth is Bond 21, not Casino Royale, and he will never, never, never do Casino Royale.
I've heard to the contrary.

It would be a good one for Brosnan to do, but I figured that if they wait till the 50th anniversary, we will have replaced Brosnan and trying to fiqure out who's replacing his replacement. It has happened, look at the Bonds of past. Connery: 6, Lazenby:1, Moore: More than we can count..., Dalton: 2, Brosnan: 4, maybe 5. What's next?
