Many members in these forums have nominated that Ewan McGregor should become the next incarnation of the super-spy James Bond. Well, they have some heavyweight backing for the same choice.
Ananova has reported that Roger Moore described Ewan McGregor in The American magazine, TV Guide, as having "the right characteristics".

You learn something new every day.
According to IMDb, Roger's last theatrical movie was The Enemy in last year, but he's done a fair bit of TV since.
The Enemy is based on a Desmond Bagley novel, which, if I remember correctly, was pretty good.

by the way, how tall is EWAN?
he is a DAMN good actor, is known world wide, and the ladies like him. plus he WOULD be the right age by the time 2006 or 2008 came along for a '07 or an '09 release....but
is he tall enough? or does that really matter given what they can do with RELATIVE HEIGHT these days( RE: lord of the rings)?

First Cuba Gooding, now Ewan McGregor. Can't the man make his mind up? ^_^
They could have a better picture than him with a helmet and a mask covering what makes him look like Bond.

He described him in an interview with American magazine TV Guide as "a fine actor" and "good looking."
Moore is to play a flamboyant gay man in his next film.
He will star with Cuba Gooding Jr in Boat Trip, which will be released this summer.
The former Bond actor says he hopes it will make the audience raise their eyebrows a little. rm2

Ewan McGregor would need to borrow Tom Cruise's elevator shoes to play Bond.
Seriously though, I can't picture McGregor getting hooked up in another highly commercial franchise after Star Wars. He's been quoted several times about his unhappy feelings about sitting around while effects shots are set up and the lack of depth in the SW role.
