Have any of you heard the YOLT song on the 2nd cd in the 30th Anniversary set that came out a decade ago (man, has it been that long?)?
It has a different female vocalist, tune and lyrics.
I'm glad that they chose Sinatra's version over this one, but it is still worth a listen.

Will look forward to it! I wasn't aware that there was another version. I wouldn't mind hearing it!

That's the Julie Rogers demo. I love it personally, but it was too haunting for the film (perfect for the novel though). Julie Rogers to this day says that it was a final recording and was intended to be in the film and not a "demo".

James Page (27 Jan, 2002 01:15 a.m.):
I also have another cover version of YOLT by "Soft Cell".

Expect it up on the MI6 Alternative Music Project shortly! :-)

James, I have the Bjork version of YOLT that was supposed to be on the Shaken and Stirred album. Apparantly she didn't like the way she sang it.

I'll e-mail it to you if you want it for the project.

Funny you should mention that Tanger007!

I managed to find Bjork's version whilst on the hunt for the Soft Cell cover. I had been looking for it for a while, but only just managed to get my hands on it.

Expect a YOLT special up this week :-)

There is also a version sung by an alternative rock band called, believe it or not, Goldfinger.

Although not my type of rock I've got it queued for download to check it out.

I, at one point, had a version of 'You Only Live Twice' by a band called the Flat Duo Jets. I may have tossed it though, as it was dreadful.

Don't forget Robbie Williams' use of the tune for his song "Millenium."
