There are several signed first editions of Blood Fever on eBay at the moment. These are not proofs, they are the actual 1st edition that isn't due for release until Jan 5. And they're signed! One seller claims to have found his copy in a bookstore. Curious.

Saw those yesterday, but not sure if I want to get one or not. I've bought alot of other Bond stuff off there recently.

I nabbed one. I've noticed they are all very short auctions...2 days.

I've bought one too, now to await it's arrival !

One seller has about 5 copies - all for a buy-it-now price of

I caved in and got on. Can't wait for it to arrive!

I wonder if we'll be seeing any US proofs soon?

Just be very careful when making purchases on eBay, many people would be shocked at the phoney autographs and forgeries sold there. About six months ago someone was selling signed Ian Flemming paperbacks from editions of books published in the 1980's. I had even contacted eBay and the seller about it, as it was clearly fraud, nothing happened. Fortunately no one was stupid enough to go for them.

You're quite right - I normally steer well away from anything that's autographed on ebay, unless it's from a seller I know. As the cost of the book would have near this price anyway, and the autograph looks genuine (looks can deceive I know), I thought it worth the risk - only time will tell mind !

Plus the fact that there is alot of these on there now (from different sellers as well) is a good sign.

More and more...

I still find this all very mysterious. Is it possible that Higson flat signed the entire first printing of Blood Fever?

Ebay sellers are continuing to say they are getting these from the stores. Can anyone in the UK confirm this? And are all store copies signed?

My signed 1/1 copy arrived today, it all looks good - not an obvious fake anyway
None of the bookstores I have been in have a copy of this book - so where are they coming from ? Perhaps they have shipped early as Christmas will soon be upon us and they wanted to make sure the stores had these on time, unlike the special edition SilverFin !!

Got mine! A UK 1st and signed. SWEET.

It's a bit different than the UK proof: the "skin" backround is gone and there is the bump effect on the letters.

Got mine yesterday as well. Very nice. Yep, they've dropped the "skin" effect, but I like the full color pic of SilverFin on the front inside cover and the yellow Young Bond eye logo pattern on the back inside cover. Overall, a nice looking book. Now I just need a copy I can read.
