Stumbled across a hardcover of OHMSS today, it wasn't like anyone I'd seen before. It was dark grey and had O.H.M.S.S in Silver letters down the spine. The Front cover is little more than just two curved white lines, persumably ski track. it's $35, it is worth me getting it ?

Just to let you know, Freemo passed on it ;D It was a third impression btw. I went to the same bookstore with Freemo this morning. Picked up some old paperbacks, including Colonel Sun. Should be a good read with Bond 20 in mind.

Yeah, my bad there, pretty good bookshop though. I left empty handed on this occasion but Blue Eyes snapped up a couple of movie tie in paperbacks, a good morning.

I wish I had some good old bookshops hidden around here - what a great place they'd be to find hidden Bond book treasures!

Dave, i have found all my books some rare from Charity shops , jumble sales, car boot fairs and school fetes. Old bookshop are normally the last resort not the first.

I'm actually going to list a pile of second hand book shops and look them all up one day. Run around mad finding Bond stuff ;D

I used to do exactly the same thing, Blue Eyes. I had a regular cycle of bookstores all around LA and the valley. Nothing like making a surprise discovery. I remember when I found a copy of Colonel Sun...it was before I even knew such a book exsisted. A Bond book that wasn't written by Fleming? I can't tell how long I sat looking it over, trying to determine if it was REALLY a Bond book.

Agreed - some second hand book shops, especially those in London, charge premium rate for Bond books, especially hardbacks.

Car boot sales often the best bet; bought the whole series of still life Pan paperbacks at one for

I visit all the secondhand bookshops in Sydney when I can, as well as school fates and garage sales I find advertised in newspapers.

I've found many an interesting book, not just Bond, selling way below their deserved market value.

I found a first edition paperback of O. F. Snelling's "007 James Bond: A Report" and Sheldon Lane's "For Bond Lovers Only" this way for peanuts.

In a kind way, "ignorance is bliss". Their ignorance is my bliss.:)

Sounds like a UK edition without the dust jacket. Even if it's a 1st, without the d/j it doesn't have any collectible "value" at all. But if you like it...
