And add me to the list of people not fond of Shyamalan. As DLibrasnow points out, "you knew within the first couple of minutes of (THE SIXTH SENSE) that the Willis' character was dead" - they could have hidden that "twist" much better.

In no particular order:

1. LotR: The Fellowship of the Ring
2. Bourne Supremacy
3. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
4. Lost in La Mancha
5. A Beautiful Mind
6. Spiderman 2
7. Maria Full of Grace
8. The Incredibles
9. Proof of Life
10. And I'm hoping it will be the Narnia movie.

Odd, I don't think of myself as a big Crowe fan, but I picked three of his movies. Never thought about that before.

I prefer 'Proof of Life' and 'Master and Commander' to his more heralded film, Gladiator.

I don't know why I'm posting under this topic, because I've hardly seen any films from the past three years since I have been too busy working on my college degree which thankfully is ending. Anyway I'll try and make some list.

1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
2. Lost In Translation
3. A Beautiful Mind
4. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
5. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
6. About Schmidt
7. Spider-Man 2
8. Adaptation
9. Sea Biscuit
10. Monster

Honorable mentions: Master and Commander, The Hours, Open Range, Gangs of New York, Somethings Gotta Give, Passion of the Christ, In America, and the Harry Potter series(especially Chamber of Secrets-god it's awful leaving those pictures off my list).

I've gotten some new films on DVD which I have not seen like Sideways, Closer, Elf, and House of Flying Daggers. So maybe if I like these films, I will add them to my list.

Now to put these films in chronological order, ending with my most favourite;

10. The Manchurian Candidate
9. Identity
8. Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King
7. Secret Window
6. The Incredibles
5. Signs
4. Black Hawk Down
3. Mission: Impossible 2
2. 28 Days Later
1. Batman Begins

My predictions were 1/3 true. I knew Batman Begins would be on this list. What I didn't know was that it would (a)reach the #1 spot, and (b)would be on this list by June 15th.

They're both great, but I loved Joan Allen in Supremacy; that is one of the factors that makes it more of my favorite than Identity.

I don't think I could come up with 10 really spactacular movies since 2000.

Off the top of my head:

#1 easily Casino Royale
also very good are the LOTR trilogy, Bourne Identity(just the 1st one), and my guilty pleasure, Zoolander . I also enjoy Oceans 11, Eight Below (I have a Husky), BatMan Begins and X Men.

Darren called Revenge of the Sith "the best film of the decade" and so I got to thinking about it and so I decided to make a thread...here's my top ten at the half way juncture despite not having seen the most anticipated film of the year(ROTS). In no particular order, subject to change:

LOTR
Kill Bill
Spiderman 2
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
The Bourne Supremacy
House of Flying Daggers
Black Hawk Down
Unbreakable
Y tu Mama tambien
City Of God

I hope 'Revenge' cracks my top ten...

Your lists please.

2008 now...hmmm

latter half of the decade so far:

Casino Royale
Bourne Ultimatum
Miami Vice
Rocky Balboa
Rambo
Wedding Crashers
Apocolypto
No Country for old men(despite the dissapointing final act)
Hustle n Flow
Quantum of Solace

Blood Diamond

Spider-man

Hoping for Quantum Of Solace to make that top 10 by the second week of November.

Layer Cake is lurking about in the low teen spot...

THE DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY
HIDDEN
LA BESTIA NEL CUORE
IRREVERSIBLE
LA STANZA DEL FIGLIO
NIGHT WATCH
THE INCREDIBLES
THE TASTE OF OTHERS
24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE

You'll note from the first list that I have changed my mind rather whimsically. Still, that's art, innit?
