Is he on stilts?

No, it's a much better image.

I agree. It is a much better pic. :)

I got this image from IFP this morning, but I believe both images are now available on the Young Bond website as wallpapers.

I still prefer our Mister Asterix's fantastic image. :)

Amazon.com says, "Only 4 left in stock--order soon (more on the way)."

Weird that the U.S. paperback isn't shipping yet?

I cannot believe they deemed it necessary to edit the words "...her muscular legs gripping him like steel", out of the US edition. :)

Lord.

Cool image once again. Not so much as odd that the paperback isn't here yet - we almost always get the hardcover first anyway, right?

Picked up my copy yesterday. I've only made it through the fishing incident.

Picked up my copy on Wednesday, after badgering the workers in Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks, and Borders for the last week. After hearing that Amazon had been shipping them early, I thought they might already be in the stores, though all stores told me different stories.

Walden's said they had some in the warehouse, and would order some for our local store.

B&N said it was releasing it on the 27th.

And Borders said it was releasing on the 26th (though I suspect that was the shipping date, not the actual release date).

In any case, I finally got it on the 27th at B&N. They only had the hardcover copy in stock, though that was fine by me, as I had planned on picking up the hardcover anyway.

Finished it today, and I must say it was absolutely superb.

Oh, and off-topic, but it's good to be back. The computer has been on the fritz as of late, so I've been filling up my time with my new book. But, as I said, I'm back. Good times. :)

Welcome back, Aussie21. Glad you got the book and liked it. Even though Amazon shows a paperback as coming out on April 27, I think it's a mistake. Out SilverFn contact is going to investigate for us. Even he wasn't too sure what the story was with this U.S. paperback version.

Ah, glad someone's checking into it, Zencat.

By the way, does anyone know where SilverFin is ranking in the UK charts? According to one site, the paperback is at #3 on the children's chart.

And when sales for the US are released, where could I find them?

Yes, the official press release for the Young Bond illustration said the book was at #3 in the UK. Not sure yet about U.S. figures. We might have to wait until te end of next week for that.

Re the paperback...

I put this in our main page coverage of the Higson LA signing event :

U.S. Paperback UPDATE:
Despite a listing on Amazon.com showing a U.S. paperback edition of SilverFin being released concurrently with the hardcover, IFP has confirmed for CBn that this listing is a mistake and the release of a U.S. paperback edition of SilverFin is not imminent.
