It doesn't seem to be bad, but I don't know how high it should/could be compared to other books that have just been released.

Well, there's more than 32 other books on sale at the moment, so I'd say that was pretty good.

Doing much better now. Perhaps it's everyone going for the rare first editions. :)

I'd say it's more due to Puffin's promotion. Higgy is everywhere.

You're right. I remember when I went into a Waldenbooks one day and was told the new Bond novel, The Man With The Red Tattoo had just been put on the shelves that day. (It had just been released.)

There were two thrown in a corner shelf hidden at the top.

A magnificent improvement from much earlier on. :)

Looks like IFP will have reason to pop the cork this Friday.

Seems the idea has paid off very well so far. Deserves credit. :)

I wonder what age group has been buying the book most so far. The young target audience or a large collection of Bond fans?

Well in the end it didn't reach #5 this week.

With 4041 sales in the past 7 days, it has reached #8 in the Children's paperback fiction chart, an improvement on last week by one place.

OK. Not stellar, but OK.

Hmmm...too bad. Just so people know, I didn't pull that number out of my :), I got it from our SilverFin/IFP contact who warned me it was hard to predict exact chart positioning, but #5 was "expected". Sorry for the wrong info, gang. I put an update in the article.

It looks like the book has moved up to #4 at WH Smith. But it's dropping at Amazon. We may have peeked sales-wise.

SilverFin has been named The Sunday Times Children's book of the week.

It's certianly getting great press.

Wow! This really shows how well a Bond book can do with some great publicity. Very nice.

I wonder when the American push for the book is going to start. I haven't seen any advertising for it anywhere; in stores, magazines, tv, internet (besides IFP and fan sites). It has a sales rank of around 14,500.

Perhaps too early, but I would think they'd get starting on it soon.

The UK campaign didn't really start until the week of release so I expect the same will happen with the U.S. release. Still, I wonder how the Miramax Disney breakup situation is effecting Miramax Books. Will they have the budget to launch a big ad campaign? I would hate to see what happened to LTK in the U.S. happen to SilverFin.

Not sure. But I combined my order for SILVERFIN and the DVD for A STUDY IN TERROR that shipped today so my sale was included in that figure.
