Thank you for all your efforts.
I downloaded all 3 and enjoyed them, after getting the codec you linked to.
I would be interested in the cleaned up version too.

Hi Tortilla. But the dloads aren't being interrupted; they simply won't complete. I've tried everything.
Please try again by installing 'download accelerator' below. The good thing with this software, if you have to re-connect or re-boot your computer it will start from where it left off.

Please give it a try whilst I'm re-editing.
Hi Mate.Hi Bondian,
Thank you for all your efforts.

I would be interested in the cleaned up version too.
I'm working on that right now.
Cheers,
Ian

Well done.Thx Ian. I finally figured out why the dload manager didn't work: unlike Lady Ann I'm not a masochist, so I don't use IE as my primary browser. I think I've got it figured out, so just drop us all a line when you've finished editing. Don't rush yourself, we all appreciate what you're doing.
So have you been able to view any of the video?.
It's going to take a few days to do this.
This production was filmed in a aspect ratio that Adobe and Pinnacle cannot handle without some sort of plug-in. Either that, or I'll need to crop it into widescreen for the aspect ratio.
One things for sure, I'll get there in the end. ( unlike British Rail ).
Ciao,
Ian

Seems the Charles Dance one pulled out on top.
Indeed, the ITV production of Goldeneye (1989) staring Charles Dance, was a lot more entertaining and quite Bondian. Dance played Fleming with great charm and the supporting cast were superb. Although the production takes a few liberties with the truth for dramatic purposes, it remains true to Fleming's story. As far as I can recall, ITV have never repeated it (but I could be wrong). About time they gave it another airing, I'd say.
I was disapointed by Ian Fleming - Bondmaker. I was hoping to see more of Fleming 's exploits as we do in the ITV production. However, Ian Fleming - Bondmaker has it's own merits. The use of Fleming's words, either from his correspondence or the novels to illustrate his moods, thoughts and compexity, was well constructed. Because of the literary slant of this drama, I'm inclined to think that this would have made a good program on BBC Radio Four. But then again, we wouldn't get to see all those lovely location shots of Goldeneye itself.
I hope they'll release it on DVD

Opening scene with Bond scuba diving (or was it Ian?)
Yeah, that was a little confusing as to who it was. As Bond/Ian did have black hair.
Perhaps one should compare their backsides instead, after all, in case no-one noticed, he wasn't wearing his trunks/shorts .
As to the programme itself, I found it boring - I'd rather see Spymaker or Goldeneye any day.

I've been very busy with the forums I admin and mod, so I haven't been able to continue editing the video.
Just to let you know that I've ordered some other software that should enable me to edit this video properly.
I'm hoping to have a full edited version of this by the end of this week. I will upload this time in equal amounts to make it easier to download.
Cheers,
L. Grade.

A friend of mine had this recorded for me. Didn't have time to watch it, yet.
But now he informed me, that he received another recording of it, but other than the first one (a DVD recording which was in 4:3), this one is a VHS tape, and it is in 16:9.
So, what is the original format of this? 4:3 or 16:9? Or where there two different versions?

This is where I've been having difficulty. To get the proper aspect ratio, I'm having to convert the 16:9 image to 4:3, then convert it back to 16:9 letterbox.
When I imported it into 'Pinnacle Studio 9' the image was stretched in 16:9, and squashed in 4:3. So I've now purchased some plug-ins that will convert the aspect ratio to the original, as Pinnacle does not recognise the correct format.
Yes, it IS confusing. But the good thing is I can now convert my holiday videos that were shot in 16:9 to 16:9 letterbox in a 4:3 image.
Just helping someone out with their forum, and I'll be getting on with this.
Cheers,
Ian

Still haven't watched it, though.

I can upload this as a .wmv ( Windows Media Player ) file at 26Mb's, but the quality will be greatly reduced. Or, I could upload it with MPEG4 compression at full quality. However, the total film will be 146Mb's.
It's your choice.

Thanks a bunch, Ian.
I recorded mine via digital broadband. It was shown as 16:9, and I believe the BBC showed it as 4:3.

Actually, I've just viewed the .wmv file and it's really naff.
I'm going to just encode in MPEG.

I've now divided the video into 3 equal parts to make it easier to download. And have had to add a few transitions to edit out 'drop-outs'. Unfortunately, I've had to remove most of a scene because of break-up of picture and sound.
You may notice one or two slight pixel break-ups.
Please right click on the link below and select 'save target as', and save on your hard disk.
Part One
http://www.jamesbond...ies/IFBMPT1.mpg (360Mb's)
Part Two
http://www.jamesbond...ies/IFPMPT2.mpg (360Mb's)
Part Three
http://www.classical...vies/IFBMP3.mpg (404Mb's)
If you find the video doesn't play, or you get a 'codec' message. Please click on the link below to download the codecs.
http://www.free-code..._1_download.htm (9.2Mb's)
Please select the FFD Show filter when installing this pack.
As mentioned earlier, it's advisable to use Download Accelerator Plus in case of any connection problems.
If you're on 1Mb's broadband the download will take approx 45 mins.
I will be loading up the other two parts today.
Cheers,
Ian

Ian Fleming?
I think Charles Dance - at least physically and vocally - was excellent as Fleming in Goldeneye. He looks good now. Why not have him again (assumimg he's interested)?
Charles Dance might actually make a good Bond villain. Imagine that - a Fleming-like villain pitted against Bond.

Link's dead. Could you upload it to Youtube, Bondian ?
It was never seen in Argentina and I'm aching to see it.
Thanks

Ben Daniels looks, and sounds, rather like Daniel Craig, doesn't he.
It wasn't just me thinking so...

The answer:
At the moment there are no plans to release Ian Fleming: Bondmaker on DVD, although others in the Life In Pictures series have been released 0 so it is still possible.
We'll have to wait and keep our finger crossed.
