Yeah, same here.
At the end of the day, if you're awake at the time of the end of the auction, you can manually place your bid towards the end, and if you put the absolute highest price in as your final bid, you'll know you're paying the highest you're prepared to pay plus it shouldn't be artifically raised by shills.
That said, I have had a few surprises by a guy who comes in at the end with seven seconds to spare with a killer figure. He's brutal. Still, if that is the way the game is to be played, then so be it.
