As I mentioned in my other topic, I happen to like parodies. So, I started this so that people can post information on the appearances of Bond characters in non-Bond media.
I'll start off with two:
Inspector Gadget: The Movie
Characters: Jaws, Oddjob and Nick Nick

At the very end of the movie, additional scenes run throughout the credits. One of these is 'A Minion Self-help' group, for retired minions. This is wher Sykes, Dr Claw's minion goes. Of particualr interest are the other in attendance. Jaws, Oddjob and Nick Nack are all on the front row and applaud Sykes for abandoning his henchman ways.
Richard Kiel actually does appear as Jaws but Oddjob and Nick Nick are played by Extras.
Althoug it clearly is them, they are not credited as such:-
Jaws - The man with the deadly metal teeth
Oddjob - The man with the deadly bowler hat
Nick Nick - don't know as the credits rolled too quickly.

I suggest you check it out and although it is a kids movie, it is an entertaining spoof segment.

The second appearances:
Bond, Jaws, Oddjob, Blofeld - The Simpsons
In a Casino segment, Bond and Blofeld (he has his trusty cat and now wears an eye-patch (a la Largo)) are playing Blackjack and unfortunately, Homer is the dealer.
The Bond is very obviously Sean Connery. In white tux and Scottish acshent.
Jaws and Oddjob stand behind Blofeld (who is rather English here).

Blofeld: 20. Your move Mister Bond.

Bond: I'll take a hit dealer. Joker! (*to Homer*) You were supposhed to take thoshe out of the deck.

Homer: Oh sorry. Here's another one

Bond: What'sh thish card? Rulesh for Drawn Shtud Poker?!!

Blofeld: What a pity Mr Bond.
(Bond picked up by Jaws and Oddjob)

Bond: But..it wash Homer'sh fault. I didn't loshe; I never Loshe! Well at leasht tell me your plot for world domination.
(Bond carried off. All leave)

Blofeld: Ha, ha, ha, ha, I'm not going to fool for that on again.
*Plays musical tune of Goldfinger*

Those are the two best ones that I've found. Has anybody else come across any?

My little brother (9) loves cartoon network and told me all about a show that had a parody of "the gay guys in Diamonds Are Forever". He calls me when he catches it again and I look and it's got Wint and Kidd (called Mr. Wink and Mr. Pibb) as lifeguards for a pool in an "adult swim" hour and these kids are trying to get in. They act somewhat fruity and use the lines "If at first you don't succeed...", "That's most annoying...", etc.

I was sitting downstairs one time and he said "Paul, listen!" and he turns up the volume and I hear some cartoon character go "soandso has three nipples like that bad guy in James Bond!"

And he showed me one episode of "Powderpuff Girls" or whatever where a white cat was possessing its owners to try to rule the world. The opening bars for TMWTGG were playing for much of the segment.

I remember a Saturday Night Live where the villain was Sting, as Goldsting, and Steve Martin was a cash-strapped 007 at a casino. He orders a vodka martini, but finds he can't afford it, so asks for a beer. Shaken not stirred of course. A frothy Bud on a tray turns up later in the sketch to ruin his concentration during the baccarat showdown.

This has been mentioned before, but James Bond has been parodied, at least twice I know of, by James Bond actors.

- Roger Moore played Seymour Goldfarb Jn in The Cannonball Run.

- George Lazenby played J.B. in The Return of the Man From Uncle.

Yeah, I didn't enjoy this one too much. I found it more of a p**s-take than a parody and in my opinion there is a difference. It just annoys me when they do this and make a total lash-up of what there doing, and literally down-sizing what it is they're parodying.

Jules (11 Apr, 2002 02:34 a.m.):
There is another Bond parody in the Simpsons. It's the episode where Homer is working for Globex (the leader Scorpio is trying to take over the world) and there is one scene where Bond is on the table with the laser ( a la Goldfinger), he escapes and Scorpio sicks Homer on him, who proceeds to tackle Bond. Later on in the show Hower says to Marge in an attempt to cheer her up "So I tackled a loafer at work today..."

That's correct. James Bond has been parodied time and time again in The Simpsons. Most Notably:
-Casino Scene

-Scorpio and the Globex corporation. Episode entitled 'You Only Move Twice'

-Homer gunbarrel to open an episode

-In comic book store:
Millhouse: OK, how about that.
Clerk: That-is a rare picture of Sean Connery signed by Roger Moore. It is worth exactly $150.

Please note that the pic is personalised 'To Janice'

-When Bart and Lisa go to milatary school.
Soldier: Excellent Simpson. 4 out of 5. But, you missed your last target.
Bart (a la Bond in Moonraker): Did I?

-Lisa's wedding.
Homer: You know what I love about you English? OCTOPUSSY! Man, I must have seen that movie...Twice!
Hugh: Yes, yes, we all love Octopussy.

-When the carnival workers move into thSimpson house.
Spud: Hey Dad look at you. You look like, James Bond.

-When Bart melts a Bond figure
Bart (a la Blofeld, strokes cat): Stick around Mister Bond. Things are really starting to ..'COOK'. *Presses 'Cook' button on Microwave*

Those are the only ones I can remember at the moment.

I also vaguely remember a Saturday Night Live skit where they had Bond in the doctors office and they were discussing his 100-some STD's and how they had never discovered some of the ones he had. It was pretty funny and I have been searching the internet of a video clip of it but so far have come up empty.

On Muppets Tonight (which was the Muppet Show reinvented in the mid nineties), Pierce Brosnan was on, and parodied himself as James Bond in a casino scene that featured a Blofeld type character.

Later in the show, Pierce helps the Muppets save the world. Pierce is dressed in a large shrimp costume and when the bad guys demand to know his name, he says, "My name is Sprawn. James Sprawn."

And then of course there was the SNL when one of the actors came out and did his Sean Connery impersonation and berrated "Remington Steele" who was hosting the show that week.

I can't make this stuff up folks.

Yes, I saw this one Xen. Although, I believe the line is actually "The name's Prawn. James Prawn"
Prawn being the English word for shrimp.
Sorry if you know what a prawn is and I have now embarassed you.

I came up with a few more...

Robbie Williams' music video for 'Millenium' yeah...that couldn't get anymore Bond-ish if it tried.

In the end of 'My Best Friend's Wedding', Rupert Everett says "The name's Bond, Jane Bond."

In the episode of Friends where Chandler is trying on tuxes for his wedding...he wants Pierce Brosnan's tux because he is Bond.

I know there are a few more I had on my mind but I can't remember them at the moment...

I did know that "prawn" is English for Shrimp..and I thought the line started with "The name's Prawn..." but I couldn't be sure...

Sorry for the typo...oh well.

And for the record....in an episode called "Dreams of Steele" Pierce Brosnan has his own little casino scene straight out of "Casino Royale."

There is another tiny wee Simpsons one.

In the episode where Lisa is trying to determine if her hamster is cleverer than Bart or not, Bart discovers her notes and hides them. When she comes to look for them she finds Bart stroking the hamster in a chair, his back to her.

He tells her she will have to solve a series of puzzles, each more deadlier than the last.

But she finds it too soon.

On the Simpsons, Brosnan is the voice of the Hal-type computer. And Marge mentions Lazenby as if he's the only Bond she knows!

Yet another Saturday Night Live Bond parody (or am I confusing this with one already mentioned?) was called Lease with an Option to Kill, with a Blofeld-like villain discussing with a realtor the purchase of a secret volcano lair.

And still yet another SNL skit. . .a bunch of Bond villains appeared on a talk show to complain about Bond ruining their plans. The only two I remember are Jon Lovitz as the Donald Pleasance version of Blofeld and guest Jimmy Breslin as Goldfinger. . .with a Brooklyn accent. Goldfinger's advice, "When you catch him. . .just shoot him in da head!"

My parents have also mentioned that in the 1960s Danny Kaye donned a blond wig on his TV show and played "James Blond." They found that funny, but those were simpler times.

I remember that second SNL skit, Hardyboy. Although, are you sure it was Jimmy Breslin playing Goldfinger? I only saw the last bit of it, and to me it looked like a cleverly disguised Randy Quaid. Maybe it's me. I thought it was comical when he started talking about retiring on his stud ranch in Kentucky. The only other James Bond like character I can think of at the moment is a TV commercial for Leon's furniture outlet. In it, a Bond-like secret agent mocks a Goldfinger laser scene, except that the villain is more like the leather-clad Xenia with a Largo-like patch. This is at the start, then it cuts to a scene in the store with the imitation (in a Connery white tux, complete with red flower!) showing the villain around the store. At the very end, the Bond lookalike dances around the store logo and sale logo ("ZERO Interest Payments" with crosshairs on the O) like the gunbarrels. Hope that's descriptive enough for ya.

Yep, it was Jimmy Breslin. I'd bet my Shirley Manson-autographed ticket stub from TWINE on that.

Another bit I just remembered. . .years and years ago, the Fox network ran a sketch show called "The Edge"--it was one of their first attempts to take on SNL and had among its cast Julie Brown and Wayne Knight. During the "hiatus" in the Bond series, they ran a sketch called "What James Bond Is Doing Right Now." In it, an actor playing Bond (and doing a wicked Connery, I might add) is called into M's office and presented with a lawnmower. Bond asks what special features it has, and M replies that it's just a lawnmower. After some confusion, it turns out that--with the Cold War over--Bond is being given the only job he can now do: mowing M's lawn. It ends with M calling out the window, "When you finish, 007, come inside for a lemonade!"

A sly little nod to "The Lawnmower Man"... little did they know that that film's star was later to become Bond. They're cleverer than they think SNL!

This is absolutely true, Dr. Cheese. I got it under pretty weird circumstances. On the same day TWINE opened, Garbage was playing a concert in my hometown of Tucson, Arizona (where JoJo had a home). I saw a late afternoon screening of TWINE, and after the movie I was hanging around outside the theater waiting for my friend to get out of the ladies' room. I looked at the woman standing next to me, a small, pale redhead with her hair done in chopsticks. I actually found myself thinking, "Why is this girl dressed up like Shirley Manson?" Then, like a bolt from the blue, I realized, this IS Shirley Manson! It turned out she hadn't even seen the film, so before the concert was to start she decided to see it. I got her to sign my torn ticket, and the rest is history. I have to say, Ms. Manson was very nice and graceful--so nice and graceful, in fact, that she didn't give me the key to her hotel suite. Ah, well, a Hardyboy can dream, can't he?

(By the way, this is my 200th post. Just gotta brag a bit.)

That lawnmower bit reminds me of the passage in For Your Eyes Only where Bond listens to the 'puff and chatter' of the power mowers (in M.'s office, no less), and wonders if children still prefer the old 'song' of the iron blades.
