Even though I was 12 when MR came out, I would have still been chomping at the bit to get those toys.

Between 2008 and 2010 I bought all the Mego figures on Ebay, incl the hard to find special Bond edition, All in the original boxes. I just had to have them all, because Moonraker is my favorite Bond movie.

This thread is overdue for a post ...

Miniature 12" astronaut figure used for FX sequences in Moonraker.

Plastic, metal, cloth.
Designed by Harry Lange and built by John Brown (former lead at AP/Century 21) working at Pinewood Studios under the supervision of Derek Meddings.
Utilizes Eagle Eyes Action Man.
Bits from the MEGO deluxe 007 figure (showing as gray here) were copped for repairs.

I did a little main page feature on the Mego/Moonraker toy tie-in...the what, the why, and the what happened.

Enjoy. smile.gif

Sadly, this is one of Zencat's articles that are unavailable.

Can we found them online? Why are they unavailable?

Sadly several migrations through the architecture of the Internet and numerous upgrades in the twelve years since the original article appeared have broken the links. As far as I know these pieces are still to be found, only their links do not lead the correct way. Just Google 'When Mego met Moonraker' and you should find Zencat's article.

Thanks a lot, Dustin! I have some of these articles on paper and, in fact, I have quoted them in some works...
