Congratulations! This is very well thought out indeed. It retains key sequences of Fleming's novel, while discarding what is outdated. What's more, you've retained the flavour of the original - especially the downbeat ending, and in a way that doesn't reuse the betrayal theme of TWINE.
The CADRE is a fine successor to SPECTRE, and I hooted with laughter at LeChiffre's *real* name.
The only thing I missed was an appearence by Felix.
I hope EON can come up with something as good.

Quite an interesting treatment. All the doublecrossing certainly fits in with Le Chiffre's embezzling of SMERSH funds in Fleming's novel. I think you have captured the film noirish tone of the novel in your treatment. The only thing missing is the SMERSH (or should I say CADRE) assassin killing Le Chiffre at the critical moment, inadvertently saving 007's life. Apart from that I await the sequel...SPEARHEAD (not a bad title).
