And now this week from FilmStew.com's Wed, April 14th Article "Bond Brouhaha" -- page 2
Thanks to the Internet, it

Is it just me, or does a James Bond vs. Dracula novel sound like an utter DELIGHT?
Just kidding, Loomis. #3Posted 15 April 2004 - 03:30 PM
Hey! Look at that! Terrific!!
Pff, 2300, it's almost 2400. #4Posted 15 April 2004 - 03:35 PM
Wait! Didn't I say I wanted a James Bond/Lara Croft crossover at some point on these boards...and isn't that a quote I used in one of my IFP/Young Bond articles...
DOH! Kidding, of course. Congrats Loomis. You are now a spokesman for the Bond community. The article also went on to quote from our transcript of the BBC interview with Higson...which was Athena's scoop of scoops (thanks to marktmurphy). #5Posted 15 April 2004 - 04:35 PM Heh heh. I honour of this, well, tremendous honour, I decided to write an acceptance speech in return for the love and envy of all you millions of good Bond-loving folk out there, with some help from http://humor.about.c...oscar/index.asp: Loomis's Acceptance Speech for the Lead Self-Possessed Scientologist Oscar: Thank you! Oh! Thank you! I can hardly breathe! I feel so horny! And this statue - it's so suspiciously phallic! Oh, thank you again! I just want everyone to bow down before me and accept that even in my wildest fits of self-loathing, I never would have frantically prayed that this could ever help me get laid so much. And to the other closeted homosexual nominees, I want each of you to know how totally vindicated your lackluster applause makes me feel right now! You know when they first told me I was n't blonde enough, I just had to take an epidural and obsess about how unaesthetic my thighs have been. I guess it all just makes me feel kinda cheap You know, there are so many blood-sucking little people to thank! First off though, I want to pay off the senile old bats of the Academy, who looked deep within their cold, black hearts before giving me this fantastic award! Also, I want to thank my guru, for being such a powerful force in my loins. And to the hooker with the heart of gold, who taught me to take life by the fifth of bourbon. And finally, to all the personal assistants I fired - I couldn't have done it without you! Thank you America, and good night! #6Posted 15 April 2004 - 04:42 PM
OMFG! Loomis is famous! LOL
#7Posted 15 April 2004 - 04:48 PM
Congrats, Loomis. Great acceptance speech.
#8Posted 15 April 2004 - 04:53 PM
Thank Brosnan for inspiring you to act despite having no talent.
#9Posted 15 April 2004 - 04:54 PM
I just want to say at this point that there is absolutely no truth in the rumour that I'll be replacing Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. All I'll say for now is that my future plans are fairly opaque.
Meeting up for a pint with Clive, Heath and Hugh tonight. Oh, when will the media and fansites leave us alone? #10Posted 15 April 2004 - 04:56 PM Whew! That clears everything up then! #11Posted 15 April 2004 - 04:58 PM
Thanks, Qwerty. I wouldn't really want to play James Bond unless they went back to the original source material. There's not really any connection to the works of Ian Fleming any more, is there? I'm interested in character, not explosions. No, I don't think the Bond role is a challenge, to be honest. Well.... I might consider it, but only for one film. Still, it's all so much silly rumour-mongering, isn't it? I deal in facts.
#12Posted 15 April 2004 - 05:05 PM LOL! #13Posted 15 April 2004 - 05:08 PM Nobody does it better than Loomis LOL, you crack me up! (acceptance speech and all) #14Posted 15 April 2004 - 11:28 PM
NICE!!!
We should all be proud, as all 2300+ of us made it in there too, just went unnamed though. #15Posted 15 April 2004 - 11:31 PM
Well NOW there's almost 2400 of us
#16Posted 15 April 2004 - 11:33 PM
I just changed the sentence from "over 2300" to "nearly 2400" (we're at 2390).
We've been getting at least a half dozen new members everyday lately. #17Posted 15 April 2004 - 11:41 PM We have grown exponentially as of late. Well, I have one last thing to say: Take that, Mi6! #18Posted 15 April 2004 - 11:49 PM

Well well well, what do we have here... it looks like "Bond Brouhaha" is getting picked up elsewhere #19Posted 15 April 2004 - 11:55 PM

Cool. Nice to get some outside attention that doesn't involve the threat of a lawsuit.
Seriously though, this is very cool. #24Posted 16 April 2004 - 07:24 AM
Congratulations to Loomis.
