Ok, folks, we've got the news, it doesn't appear to be April Fools anymore, so let's get down to it. Drawing on our limitless knowledge of the character, what kinds of events could be chronicled in this series?
If this were anything like the Young Indiana Jones series, it could be good.

James Bond getting his first kiss?
No, seriously, I think it would be interesting to have young Bond investigate the death of his parents. It could sound like a cool story, if his parents got killed by SMERSH?

Hmmm. I suppose it could be the story of him being slowly guided toward what he becomes. Someone meets him at Eton, claiming to know his parents, so he gravitates towards this lecturer, or house father, or whatever, and slowly but surely Bond learns the tricks of the trade.
Somehow though, I get a sinking feeling that Andrew and Monique might be alive for this.

Gawd, leave the parents of Bond out of this. For once, IFP must learn to resist, and they should leave that aspect firmly alone.

Well... they could make these new books like the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books... but all Bond-ed up. Perhaps. The thing is... Bond at 13??? That's just a little young. If they want to write Bond as a kid at least 16. Better at 18 or 19. Even better if they didn't try this AGAIN at all.

I don't think they should touch the parents. Just one similarity to Potter too far.
And god forbid they be like Young Indy. What did that meandering travelogue series have to do with the big-budget adventure Indy films? At least Higson is setting out to write thrillers: that's a step in the right direction.

Likely includions:
Bond's Friendships:
Bond's first girlfirend
Bond's first betrayal by a girl
Bond's first betrayal by a friend
Bond's first friend being killed
Bond's first realisation that if he is to lead a secret life he will have no friends
Bond's Skills:
First search of a room for clues
First use of a tape recording device
First drive of a car
First fist fight / use of marshal arts
First time following a suspect
First win at cards
Unlikely Inclusions:
First Smoke
First Shag
First Drink
First Kill
Conclusions - Boys Own Adventures - might be good - for kids - but will not be Bond.
Bond by name only - much like Die Another Day in the movie series actually.
