I was just wondering what had happened to the book club? It was one of the best ideas in recent memory that the forums had come up with.

Has it gone for good? Is it being revamped? Do you want someone to run it for you? I think there was talk a couple of months ago, probably more, that it was going to be back.

I don't mind volunteering time if you're having problems.

Brix.

I've heard that it will be starting up again some time this year.

Can't wait, as I thought it was a fantastic idea for the forums and a great way to discuss Fleming and the rest. :)

Too much typing not enough reading methinks.

Too much shirking not enough working.

I'd love for the book club to restart.

Last summer I began re-reading Fleming (this time in order) but I'm only up to DAF. I'd love to be able to discuss these great books.

As an idea the Blades Book Club was quite good but the main problem was that not everybody had access to the books or could get them in time for reading. Hence the reason why it didn't work too well.

Well, I'm currently on Casino Royale and plan to read them in order one after the other, so when it comes around for me to read Moonraker I'll try and resurrect the club (if it hasn't already restarted by then).

As to Tanger's comment about not having the book of the moment on hand, I'm not too sure why someone would join up then.

Well because they may have joined up at the beginning because they had Casino Royale and wanted to join the discussion.

Count me in. Recently I have read Ian Fleming's You Only live Twice and Casino Royale in that order. I plan to start reading Raymond Benson's The Man with the Red Tatoo and get a hold of Blast from the Past. In late summer I plan to pick up with Fleming's Live and Let Die and read all the Fleming Bond novels in order.

Fair point, I guess. Perhaps many members were not in it for the long haul either.

I'm about to finish Casino Royale, so I'm slowing coming up to date with where the BLBC is up to at this stage.

I know I haven't posted in a long time, but if it helps, I'm very interested in seeing this start up again.

I'm all for reading again Brix, but it might be good to get alot of members all ready for it again, to ensure it is popular and a success.

I must say whoever created the new BLBC emblems ( I assume Mr. *) did an excellent job, very cool. :)

A very fine job on those, took me a minute to notice them today, and I think it encourages more to join the club, excellent work.
