send it to the toilet eon and mgm have killed the bond series

Statements like this make me laugh Bondfinesse....you obviously have no idea of the history behind the franchise....

You know that other actors portrayed 007 before Brosnan!

First Brozzie is gone, now they wanna make Bond21 about Bond's roots. If this turns out to be true I'm convinced the Bond series won't last past 2010.

Dear, how I shudder! That would be a mistake of monstrous proportions!! Yikes!

He'd certainly be young enough though. :) I just scowled when I saw the trailers for Agent Cody Banks.

if they go back to the roots then they would have to get rid of john cleese, judi dench and samantha bond and replace them with different people it would suck to see cleese go i could take a different moneypenny and m

'finesse.....There was an actor named Sean Connery who once was Bond. When he left the role people said the Bond franchise was dead.

Thus ends your history lesson for today! :)

DLib, I don't think Bondfinnesse is as concerned with Brozzie leavin' as he is (as well as me) with the idea of exploring Bond's past.

exploring his roots makes no sense at all they would have to replace every mi6 actor plus no one cares how bond got here they just wanna see how he gets out of the next conflict

Then after Connery there was George Lazenby who was not successful. That meant that the producers secured a deal with Sean Connery to return because United Artists believed that to be successful a James Bond movie must star Connery!

Pay attention 'finesse :)

Not his first assignment, but the literary Bond got his "00" status by likking a couple of Japanese cypher clerks in New York, wasn't it?

James Bond's first assignment, huh? Okay...but does that mean Bond 21 is going to be a period piece? If so, how are they going to work the Aston Martin Vantage into that?

It's sort of getting...confusing, isn't it?

I can't see it happening, unless they do some sort of flashback, a la Indy III. I'm pretty certain this rumour can be filed with all the "Goldfinger's daughter is out for revenge" and "Sean Connery to play Bond's dad" nonsense.

I forgot about that. Since an Aston Martin is going to be in Bond 21, that means this is just a silly rumor unless they do what they did in the beginning of GoldenEye, which I have no problem with.

In James Bond's early years, he is played by Matthew Perry, lives in New York City, has best friends named Ross, Joey, Rachel, Phoebe, and Monica. There, THAT should appeal to the younger crowd!@$#@

It will ruin the series, just like it ruined the Jack Ryan series, when they cast Ben Affleck as Ryan.

The only way I could see this happening is if it was a period piece, and it was Casino Royale
