I was just wondering.

Does anybody know when On Her Majesty's Secret Service will be re-released on DVD?

I figured it would be late November or early December because that is when the box sets are being released but I have not yet found anything.

I wanted it for christmas because my VHS copy got destroyed and it is my favorite out of the series but I don't want to send my aunt on a wild goose chase looking for something that is not out yet.

The last two box sets were released on 11/18/03. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is in the third set.

All the DVDs are now available for purchase. So, you can get OHMSS all by itself!

I think the "Inside..." documentary on the DVD is one of the best of the series! I have thought that since its 2000 release and have watched it several times in the last three years!

Actually I don't think they will release them individually, or at least for the time being. It is very possible that they may release the films seperately after the box sets have had a little time to sell.

Hmmm I can't seem to get MKKBB up but I read a news article there about the box sets saying those who want to buy them individually appear to be out of luck. Whether they are right or not I don't know, but I'm sure many of them will appear on eBay in the next few months.

It's note worthy that retailers were caught off guard in 2000 when the DVD was first released.

News stories at the time commented that many of the stores had not pre-ordered DVDs of OHMSS since they thought there would be no public demand and were surprised that demand was so high.

I agree with you Darren.

Is it just my eyes or did it appear that Peter Hunt had some sort of growth on the left side of his neck, or was it the way he was sitting and turning his head?

Excellent one! The "Inside..." documentary is indeed extraordinary, and at a great length, however, the the problem with the secondary doc, (Q's lab) is just not long enough! 11 minutes will not cut it with me! Other than that, it's a great DVD.

I was always disappointed that the Q documentary was so short....It was almost as if it was an after thought given the huge publicity at the time of the disc's release in 2000 of the 1999 death of Desmond Llewelyn.

I think they felt that because the main documentary was slightly longer that usual, they could get away with making the second one slightly shorter than usual. It just doesn't work, don't cut the corners, there was so much more information they could've have put in it. Personally, I think all the documentaries could be longer, but that's because I'm a Bond fan always craving information. :)

If not, there's always half.com, TheCheat. And yes, do not hesitate to grab this one, one of the very best, and the DVD speaks for itself. Don't take my criticizing of the second doc too hardly, the DVD is excellent!

Oh, well, half.com isn't an auction like ebay. People do put the products up for sale, but you don't bid on them on half.com. Try it out, I quite like it.

As memory serves, when the initial Box sets were released, the DVD's individually didn't show up for sale until after TWINE was released on DVD.

Not that it really mattered to me as I was getting the complete sets anyway. I do recall buying a few individually as gifts.

Of the "Inside" docs. OHMSS is one of the best. FYEO, TSWLM, YOLT, LALD, TLD and GE are some of my favorites and worth checking out.

On any of those, if I get the urge to watch a Bond, sometimes I'm just as content to watch the the documentaries.

Good luck finding your DVD's everyone.

:)
