Ok, so I never went to SpyFest, but I did drag my girlfriend to the James Bond Exhibit in Dearborn Michigan. What do you guys think of the online Bond database or the Online Mission?

Anyone complete the mission while you were there in the 20 minutes allowed? Has anyone used there access card to go to the website afterwards? Cliffy the Chipmunk anyone? The online mission was a little bit strange eh, but not that hard!

Well, I'll be off this weekend to check out the James Bond Exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI....... If you guys and gals would like, I could take some photos and post them up if anyone would care to see them.......

IndyB007,

That would be great. Some other members and I are considering making the trip - but wondering if it will be worth the expense.

Pics would be great!

If you could keep a sharp eye out for anything on OHMSS - I would appreciate it. I don't think they have anything from the film there, but you never know.

Thanx

Not a problem my friend. I will be bringing a digital camera along with me. I will definetly keep an eye out for OHMSS props and vehicles. I'll prolly end up taking pictures of just about everything since they don't sell an exhibition book :) I would really like to see Lazenby's Aston from the film or even a bobsled.......

Well, it was good exhibition but no such luck seeing a bobsled! I wish I knew how it compared with the exhibition in the UK. Anyone been to both?

Just went with my wife & daughter on Labor Day weekend. Pretty cool, but I expected more museum space dedicated to the exhibit. I took a whole roll of film and will post the pics that turned out. BTW, the rest of the museum is very interesting, too. They had many historical vehicles on display, such as the car that JFK was shot in and the Rosa Parks bus. Extremely cool!

Yes I agree, the rest of the Henry Ford Museum was great. The very first Mustang is there, the Oscar Myer Weiner thing, and don't forget the Lincoln chair.

Back to Bond... Honestly I was hoping there would be more costumes too, and I guess all the Boats must still be on display in the UK. I should have taken more pictures, and as a Bond collector who can't find anything much to buy in Canada, I was a little disappointed the spy store didn't have more choice. - No sideshow figures, only about 3 or 4 different ultimate corgi models, none of the Directors Cut set.

They only had the swatches, Beanstalk cars, the 007 Barbie set, books which you can buy at any bookstore, and a few other generic things like cups and pens, hats, and a shoulder bag with the 007 logo. I guess it was better than no store at all! Maybe some collector came by and bought up all the good stuff. Even the handful of Johnny lightning cars they had in stock - they didn't have any of the new Aston Martins!

That's too bad about the store... maybe they will have re-stocked by the time I get there...... Anyway.... Tomorrow it's off to Detroit! I will take many pictures and post as many of them that you want to see......

By the way, I just found out yesterday that someone here in IL, central IL to be exact, owns 7 or 8 of the Bond vehicles. The person who told me didn't know which ones he had, but thought that he had the Moonraker boat......... I must find out more info and possibly contact this collector....

Well, everyone, I made it back from the James Bond exhibit. It was definetly worth the trip, but I was hoping it would have had more stuff to it than it did, but the store had restocked everything....

But, anywhere, here are the pictures that I'd promised to post upon my return.

The Sign to the exhibit......

IndyB007,

These shots are great! Thank you so much.

Was OddJob's bowler there? Or was that only in the UK?

Is there any kind of exhibition program or pamphlet?

They did have Odd Job's Bowler, Scaramanga's Golden Gun, Rosa Kleb's shoe & Jaws' teeth, but they were in some kind of moving display thing that showed the prop and then a picture of the actor who used it. It was strange. Every time I timed it, it took the photo when the prop was showing, but the picture of the actor was the only thing that would photograph.

Here's a picture of M's desk
