I took my kids to see Finding Nemo this weekend. With it was a trailer about another PIXAR film coming out in November called The Incredibles, apparently it's about a retired, married superhero Mr Incredible whose called out of reitrement to save the world. During the trailer while he's trying to get his utility belt on around
his middle aged spread one of the Ski Chase themes from OHMSS was played. I must admit thought I recognized it immediately for Barry's work it fit the trailer
nicely. It was kinda fun to hear that music coming from the silver screen after such a long time.

Took my kids to see "Finding Nemo" (which was great, BTW) and saw the trailer for the next Pixar feature "The Incredibles".

Although it was just a teaser, what they showed was hilarious - it looks like a spoof of the super hero genre. It's directed by Brad Bird ("The Simpsons"), but what is interesting is that John Barry is scoring the music. I don't think he has ever done an animation feature, so it should be interesting.

Something Bondish of note, they used Barry's "Ski Chase" from OHMSS for the teaser. I can't help but grin...

As soon as I find the trailer to download online, I'll let you all know. :)

Great trailer, even if it's just a teaser. Barry's music sounds great in the humorous context!

Now, just have to wait to hear how his new original music for the movie sounds...

John Barry has composed the music to The Incredables. The OHMSS was just a temp track! as if yis didnt know that. Seriously, his new score is for this new film.

I know, I know. Usually studios will recycle music from other movies for trailers, because the score for that movie usually hasn't been finished yet. Naturally, they went ahead and used Barry's old music (OHMSS) for the trailer (probably at Barry's suggestion).

That's why I'm looking forward to how Barry will compose music for an animated feature, which, I don't think, he has ever done.

the fact that he has never composed for an animated picture is not the real question. What is important, is that Barry will be back in action ! Sure there will be action music like for the old bond.
For me, in november 2004, when i ll buy the soundtrack, it wil be like buying a new "old bond score" completely original.
I can't wait to hear and see more !!

Have you heard his score for "Enigma" (2001), starring Dougray Scott and Kate Winslet? I haven't listened but heard pretty much mixed reviews on it.

That trailer with that music is great. It definitely is a different recording of the theme. I wonder who did it. Is it the Nic Raine version or did Barry re-record it? I've read that Barry is supposed to be doing the music to this film. Boy, did that trailer bring a smile to my face.

The music is from OHMSS, but the actual tune you hear in the trailer is lifted from the Prague Philharmonic (Nic Raine) performance for Barry's "The Collection" 4-CD box set that came out in 2001.

Yes, John Barry is scoring "The Incredibles" which, I believe, is his first animated movie. Unfortunately, the movie won't be released until November 2004. I don't know why they came out with a trailer this early

John Barry will be scoring the new Pixar/Disney project, THE INCREDIBLES, an animated sci-fi action adventure film.

Plus, the new released teaser trailer from THE INCREDIBLES features the classic OHMSS main theme music all over the presentation.

I guess John Barry might offer the Disney/Pixar producers the epic and ostentatious classic action Barryesque sound we Bond fans are demanding for the Pierce Brosnan Bond films. Can

Hopefully we will get the old John Barry sound in The Incredibles. I am not very keen on his latest motion picture scores like Enigma.

As a lifelong Barry fan, his scores are few and far between lately. I, too, hope we get more of the "old days" and not Enigma or Eternal Echoes (yes, not a score but a Barry original) music.

I've seen the trailer a minute ago, and the ohmss fits the animation perfectly. Can't wait to see the film next year. Doesn't matter if a movie sucks (Stallone's "the specıalıst"), as long as it has music composed by Barry.

I doubt the movie will suck. So far Pixar have had a 5 for 5 track record. Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monster's Inc. and Finding Nemo -Every single one of these movies has been a hit and I doubt this will do any worse. If anything it'll probably do better than the previous films.
