You haven't seen DAD? Curious. May I ask why? Didn't it play in Thulcandra?

I agree with those rankings of yours, Fawn, although I'd perhaps give TWINE an even lower rating.

Sir James, are you saying there'll never be a better Brosnan Bond movie?Originally posted by Sir James
The Brosnans are the hardest to rank, but my rank has really been solidified
GE 10/10

I actually agree with your list, just not the ratings. I always like to leave some room to move.

TND 8.5
GE 8
TWINE 7.5
My rankings are always changing, and I dont doubt when the next Brosnan film comes out, that will be my favorite Brosnan film, I've felt, with each film, he's gotten better and the films have gotten better. I fell out of favor with TWINE though, in fact, for a while, the only reasons I liked it was cause it was everything TND was not, but in the years, I've grown to appreciate TND more and more, wow, now thats a mouthful.

DIE ANOTHER DAY - 8/10
THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH - 7.5/10
TOMORROW NEVER DIES - 7.5/10
It's really hard to say. I have problems with all of them.
GE's last half hour is sorta flemsy to me. But it's BY FAR the best written and plotted Brosnan Bond. Although, it'd be interesting to see an alternate 'what if' version with Timothy Dalton, since it was written for him.
TND is pretty solid really. It's a shoot 'em up, but it works for what it is. The plot isn't bad either really, atleast it didn't fall apart slightly like TWINE.
TWINE coulda been phenomenal. But it fell apart in the second half sorta. But great since of style I think.
The first half of DAD rocks. The pretitles were excellent IMO and titles were great. I even like Madonna's song.

But the Ice Palace stuff left me cold, the movie just slips abit on all that ice. The CG parasurfing was disgraceful, but the car chase was cool. I like the Antonov pretty well.
Oh heck, I dunno.

DAD-9/10 Love everything but some of the ice palace stuff. But in the ice palace is where we come to some revelations, so again its tough. But overall the movie was stylish and fun. Could have done without the slo-mo editing but anywho, onwards.
TWINE-8.5/10 Loved it all, but everytime I see it there is one scene that just eats away at me and that is the sequence in the KGB safehouse in Istanbul with Zukovsky. Can't stand how they cram so much of the plot together. "Oh, a nuclear sub, that's it! Locator card, M! Bomb!" Just too much important stuff to be haphazardly thrown together. Could have trimmed down the helicoptor scene and lengthend this one, but the torture scene and him blowing away Electra was worth the price of admission, anywho, onwards.
TND-8/10 Again, great style with this one! But it too had it's rushed synopsis with Carver telling Wai Lin his plan. Didn't bother me as much as TWINE though. Loved the Dr. Kaufman scenes and the end with Bond and Stamper and Bond saving Wai Lin is classic stuff!
GE-8/10 Loved this one too! Get the idea here? But the score was illegal! Can you imagine David Arnold sing at the end of one of his scores like Eric Serra did in GE? What the hell was that? But this one did have the best villain of the Brosnan's so far in Trevalyn and Xenia. They wee great. But the Brosnan and the MI6 group hadn't found themselves yet.
So, that's it until next time when the list will be completely opposite!

2. Tommorrow Never Dies- 9.0/10 - To me this just felt like a classic 60's Bond like You Only Live Twice.
3. Goldeneye- 8.5/10- WHERE'S THE 007 THEME? If John Barry, David Arnold, or even, hell, I'll dare to say Micheal Kamen did the score to this film, it would've had a more Bond feeling to it. However, if you listen closely, there are 007 themes mixed in throughout, but you have to have a good ear to hear them. In a James Bond movie, you shouldn't have to listen closely to hear the theme.
4. Die Another Day- 8.0/10- CGI ruined it, and it had such a good begining too. However, some of the CGI had to be forced into the movie because of bad weather or delays. The Halle Berry dive sequence is the one that pops out at me the most. If that was shot live, it would've looked really good.

1. Die Another Day
2. Tomorrow Never Dies
3. Goldeneye
4 The World is Not Enough.
Actually I love them all, but I put Goldeneye third because a couple of things made it weak in my opinion . 1. We never saw the BMW for more than two or three minutes and it never got to show off its "optional extras" and 2. Eric Serra's score didn't have nearly enough of the James Bond Theme. I heard that someone else scored the tank chase scene.
As for the The World is Not Enough, I had to see that film at least three times before I finally fully understood the plot and how the kidnapping affected Elektra King and made her turn traitor. I also thought that Denise Richards was just a little too young looking Bond girl for Brosnan. Despite these few details I can't say that I hated these films.
Die Another Day, just turned out to be a perfect hommage to 40 years of 007 for me. I can even overlook the few scenes of CGI, after all this is the 21st century and you have to keep Bond up to date with the times. As long as they dont totaly replace all live action stunts in future bond movies with CGI, I'll be happy.
Tomorrow Never Dies was in my opinion also a great tip-of-the-hat to older Bond movies. I loved David Arnold's score for this, and he really lets out the Bond theme at just the right moment. I also thought that Wai Lin was a great bond girl at an equal level to 007 (just like Jinx in DAD). She really was the first bond girl we see to just totally be tough and kick butt (okay so Pam Bouvier was the first in Licence to Kill) and not be weak and pathetic like Stacy Sutton from A View to a Kill, and even Kara Milovy kind of got on my nerves that way, although she wasn't nearly as annoying as Stacy.

GE-9/10: Probably my favorite Bond screenplay but the music and a somewhat drawn out opening (it takes Bond nearly an hour to begin his mission) bring it down a little bit.
TND-8/10: Turns into a standard action film towards the end, but quite good for the first 90 minutes.
TWINE-8/10: While I do like the film, it dioesn't have the spark and zest I look for in a Bond film, plus the submarine finale is a bit dull.
