Having said that, I LOVED Unbreakable. Probably his most interesting (and sadly overlooked) film so far. The best film I've seen Bruce Willis in. Another great performance by Samuel L. Jackson. Darkly poetic camerawork. Clever music. In one word: great.
I liked Sixth Sense, but thought The Others was a better try at the same theme. I disliked Signs, especially Mel Gibson's character. And that twist ending that, well, wasn't much of a twist..
So yeah, check out Unbreakable. I hope you'll enjoy it.

I like it enough to get it on DVD...while it does have a "twist" at the end, by no means is it a jaw-dropper like "The Sixth Sense".

I think it was too subdued for many tastes when it was released. However, I'm glad I own the DVD. It gets to the essence of what makes a superhero.
The deleted scenes are rather disturbing and I can see why they were omitted from the theatrical release.
Give it a look-see.

I thought Bruce Willis was great, Sam Jackson amazing as always. I share the unpopular opinion that Unbreakable was Shyamalan's best work. I always thought that Signs was borderline silly and the Sixth Sense had too many holes for repeated viewings. (Take a movie like The Usual Suspects...even though upon repeated viewings, you know the ending, there are very few clues that would ruin it, just a few hints that kinda make you laugh, knowing the outcome.)
But as for the original question, yes, BUY the DVD. Great extras, and one really cool deleted scene. (The weightlifting.) (And a few crappy ones where you'll say "that's why it was deleted.")

I'm thinking about the deleted "amusement park ride" scene. Yikes!

Joaquin Phoenix provided some nice comic relief for an otherwise somber flick.

I guessed the twist ending to The Sixth Sense within the first 5 minutes of the movie but on repeated viewings the film becomes much more poignent and more about the characters than the plot.
*************** HERE BE SPOILERS - HIGHLIGHT TO REVEAL ***************
Unbreakable dared to be different from all the other Superhero movies out there in that it showed the realisation of the superhero that Brice Willis's character and his interation with those around him than the usual wham, bang, thank you ma'am scenarios that other Hollywood movies provide us with.
And Signs basically scared the **** out of me. An intelluctual alien invasion movie. Just thinking about the Brazillian video, the pantry door and the reflection in the tv will make me sleep with the bedroom light on tonight ...

I read somewhere that Unbreakable was the first in an intended trilogy about the character of David Dunn. Does anyone know if he intends to do this as his next project or does he have something else in mind?

His next project is supposedly going to be a romantic comedy...

...the ad exec is actually dead and the waitress realized her powers and becomes a super hero, while regaining her faith in God.
Have I covered all the bases?
