Did the love scene with Bond and Jinx bother you?

We have always believed that James Bond was the quintessential womanizer, who probably sexually satisfied every woman he was with to the highest degree. By showing Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry while they are actually in the midst of making love, it seems to demean his reputation and ability.
I, for one, love to see love scenes and nudity in movies (especially with Halle Berry!), but it just doesn't seem appropriate in a Bond movie. Am I the only one who was bothered by this scene?

lol, seriously though, yeah, i thought it was OK, Bond should be shown doing his "thang" on screen, it what he's famed for yet we've never seen him do it. Although i do see where your coming from with this idea about the mystique of his sexual pro-ess. I suppose it comes down to opinion in the end.
Remember, this was mostly down to Tamahori, apparentley what they shot that was cut could have given the film an 18 rating in the UK. Some very raunchy stuff.

It would have been great if they'd not cut out the part when Halle chokes and Pierce rescues her! I'll wait for the DVD then for that...

And it allows the woman to work at her own pace... And the view is tremendous!

But it wasn't bad...at least they didn't use CGI!

well, the scene didn't bother me. The only thing that was weird was that Bond had almost no contact with Jinx before they had sex. In all previous Bond films, the strong independent woman (like agent xxx in TSWLM) would not fall for Bond in the second scene that they are together. It just seemed stupid. They should have held it off for a bit. Build towards it so to speak.
Yeah, but this a new Bond for a new "generation." This is another reason why the Jinx character won't resonate for years to come. Bond & Jinx's "interraction" is totally by the numbers. There's no heat generated whatsoever and it looks more like Bond's robbing the cradle once more.
Someone get James Bond a bonafide woman.

I have to say I was beginning to get a little weary of all the adverts and articles and sound bites claiming that "Jinx Jordan is Bond's equal in every way." Um, excuse me, but didn't they say that about Wai Lin in the spin cycle for TND? And (I'm far too young to remember this one, but I'm sure comparisons were made) Anya Amasova in TSWLM? A female opponent/agent/sidekick who matches wits with Bond is nothing new, folks.
I believe the producers wanted to "sexualize" and "energize" Jinx as much as possible, so as to make her stand apart from her predecessors. She's basically Wai Lin with a libido. And Anya Amasova with street cred, an American accent, and an orange bikini. No disrespect to Halle Berry (whom I adore) or the character (I hope to see Jinx in her own franchise) but Jinx is just the latest in a Bond girl archetype -- the female Bond.
So, in a way, that sex scene was necessary in order for Jinx not to seem "familiar." She's basically a hornier Wai Lin.

Guess what...the scenes with Elektra in TWINE were twice as erotic and romantic as the ones in DAD.
